From Minecraft 1.20.2 to 1.20.6



What is Waystones?


Waystones is a data pack inspired by BlayTheNinth's famous Waystones mod.

Waystones allow you to travel quickly from one point to another in your world, and within any dimension (including custom ones).
You will also take with you your vehicle (horse, boat...) and the mobs you currently have on leash. So wasytones also allow you to transport mobs within several locations more fastly.

Unlike the mod, waystones do not appear naturally within the world, they require to be crafted.

Many settings are available to manage this content at your ease!

Bug fix:
  • The XP consumption setting didn't take levels from players anymore (since V.3.0.0 on MC 1.20.5+) when enabled.
Changes:
  • The XP consumption setting now doesn't consume levels from players in creative mode when enabled.

Hi, this data pack already covers the 1.20.6 version since V.3.3.0 (April 24, 2024), now on V.3.3.4.
I honestly don't know how you may have missed that as it is the top featured link of the Modrinth page.

I'm using version 3.2.3 (also tried 3.2.1) on a Paper/bukkit server. It might be EssentialsX, but I can't use any of the items in the GUI. I can take them and when I reopen the GUI it resets.
i.e., I can't teleport or change settings.

The fact you switched the data pack's version isn't related on your current issue. I highly recommend you to use the latest one available for your current server's version (here 1.20.2).
If you tried to reload with /reload confirm, the order commands where registered changed somehow. I can't tell.
But the fact you can't use a waystone is probably due to the fact Essentials override the vanilla /tp command by default.
You can avoid this by adding /tp to the list under the disabled-commands section from Essentials' config.yml file.

It's a snapshot, so I'm sure it's temporary, but I had the most AMAZING bug when trying to break a waystone in today's release! XD

Hi, today's snapshot changed some registries and directories names. Basically here, the data pack doesn't manage to retrieve the specific entities tag (as it should now be registered under tag/entity_type instead of entity_types), so the marker isn't deleted, so it triggers the "remove" event indefinitely.
But there are also other differences that would prevent the data pack to run on this version.

I'm not likely to support snapshots as they introduce experimental changes, that even sometimes get reverted before the official release. So for the moment if you want to use Waystones (and any other data pack to be honest), you might better want to stay on 1.20.6.
