(JAM CONCEPT) - Back to the Blocks!
HELLO!!
Today, I want to introduce a Jam concept to gauge interest and finalize my idea. I ask that if you are inspired to create a skin for this topic to wait until the Jam is announced so that you may recieve a trophy and recognition! If this inspires you to make your own Jam, lovely. I just ask that you put your own twist on it, because that's more fun anyways!
In this Jam, titled "Back to the Blocks"...we go back to the overworld we came from for inspiration. By taking our favorite concepts from our favorite blocky game, we can make skins that truly pay homage to our creativity and the game we all love.

I'm still a bit foggy on the jam concept as different ones seem to have significantly different rules/organization…
…but:
If there is to be a judged contest, having all players work from the same base (the same block in this case) would avoid any 'apples to oranges' in the voting/judging.
If the idea is an unjudged submit_for _appreciation format, choose your own would likely attract more entrants/submissions as any particular block is likely to be uninspiring to at least some members.
Block from a specified biome might split the difference, but whether this would likely be a cse of best- or worst-of -both would seem a YMMV issue.
If this is used, requiring the block to be biome specific (eg. emerald ore from extreme hills or acacia from savannah ) rather than something like dirt of granite might be desirable.
Disclaimer: given the very small amount of skin making I've ever done, mine may not be the most informed opinion…
