Simple Enchancements is a mod that aims to improve the vanilla process of xp grinding and enchanting via several simple modifications and additions to the game.

The first, and biggest of these additions are gold plated hoppers and the experience stand. The experience stand allows you to "bottle" experience into empty bottles, turning them into Bottles 'O Enchanting and subtracting 11 xp from your total. You can also use the experience stand to un-bottle the experience, converting 1 bottle into 10 xp points. The experience stand also has an internal XP buffer of about 200 points, allowing you to store XP in the block itself.

In addition to its main functionality, the experience stand collects nearby xp orbs and places the xp into bottles/its buffer. This allows automated XP collecting. Additionally, when a gold plated hopper takes an item out of a furnace slot, any xp that the furnace would have given a player who manually removed the items is transferred to the buffer of a nearby Experience Stand. Any Experience Stand withing an 11x11x11 cube of a smelting furnace is a valid target for this XP transfer. Other than this functionality, gold plated hoppers are identical to normal hoppers.

Next there are gold books. Gold books function exactly like normal books, but they have the enchantability of gold items, making it much easier to get high level enchants/multiple enchants on them. Gold books spawn as loot wherever normal books spawn as well, doubling the number of enchanted books (gold or normal) you get from loot.

A small, but powerful change is mob spawners being able to drop themselves as an item when mines with a silk touch pickaxe. No more traveling 500 blocks to get to your mob grinder!

The last change is any entity killed by a golem will drop XP. This means you can have fully automated mob grinders by combining clever redstone with iron golems and experience stands.
