Hello,
I would like to share with the Minceraft Community my long lasting project, created in Minecraft PE. It's entitled "Repubblica di Racigliano" and it was meant to represent an immaginary late medieval/early renaissance North italian merchant republic, but at least some of the buildings recall the style of medieval northern Europe.
In this map You can find:
- huge principal city-state, consiting of at least 7 different districts;
- smaller former city-state, divided into 2 districts;
- at least 4 private villages or small towns;
- about 30 different churches, cathedrals, chapels or abbeys;
- many castles, palaces and noble or rich bourgeoisie residences;
- civic and bell towers, vineyards, grain fields, markets, jousting arenas and much more (some of the buildings are described with their functions, the others are easily defineable, or at least I hope so) .
And here some of the real existing buildings that have inspired me during the creation (only insipred, I didn't mean to reproduce them):
- cathedrals of: Orvieto, Siena, Florence and Lucca;
- florentine Santa Maria Novella, pisan San Piero a Grado, veronese san Zeno and san Francesco di Lodi churches;
- florentine Palazzo Vecchio and senese Palazzo Pubblico;
- the Este castle at Ferrara, Urbino's Palazzo Ducale, Vicenza's Basilica Palladiana, Perugian Palazzo dei Priori and the Sforza castle at Imola;
- bolognese and San Gimignano's civic towers;
- florentine Ponte Vecchio, roman triumphal arches and obelisks;
- and many more I cannot recall at the moment.
The world is described as 75% complete, because there are still many interiors remaining to be done.
