News: Vanilla Tweaks has fixed these issues, rendering this pack obsolete.

Old description:

Modified version of Vanilla Tweak's "Lower Shield" unobtrusive resource pack. I originally used that pack until I realized several flaws with it.

What their pack was meant to do:
Lower the shield in first-person POV

What their pack actually did:
Lower the shield in first-person POV
Off-set the shield in third-person POV
Make the shield darker in the inventory icon

To fix these issues I modified their pack and have made one that only affects the first-person view, which was the original intent of the Vanilla Tweaks pack. Hope this is useful for some people out there.

What my pack is meant to do, AND does:
Lower the shield in first-person POV

And don't worry the amount the shield is lowered by is the same as the Vanilla Tweaks pack.
And yes, this pack is fully compatible with my better shield textures pack (or any pack that only changes the shield appearance).

Yes! This pack (the Vanilla Tweaks one too for that matter) only modifies the shield model. The appearance is not changed by this so any pack that changes the looks of the shield (my other pack included) will work with this pack.

I'm making a custom version of Vanilla Tweaks 1.16 texture pack, and I tried to fix the shield by tutorials but I coulden't. Can you please message me how you fixed it? And thank you so much for making this!!

If you were going for the fixes I did here, all I did was start with the Vanilla Tweaks pack and experiment with the .json files. I also opened the .json files for the default resources for 1.16 and started replacing the Vanilla Tweaks code with the default code, saving and reloading textures in-game until I found the issue. As shown in the images, there are two variants of the Vanilla Tweaks pack and I used the older one, which only made the shield icon darker. The fix was a missing line of code in the first line of the .json file, and that fixed the darkness. Fixing the offset third-person blocking animation was much simpler, as all I did was copy the entire third-person blocking code and replace the Vanilla Tweaks code.
