Mod Dependence Indicators!
When creating a texture pack, a section called "Mod dependency" would appear!
In this section, we could indicate if our submission needs a mod for all or some of its features to work!
- It would be similar to tags, but it would be mostly focused on mods, either performance mods like Optifine, as well as mods that add new features like BYG, etc.
- With each mod that we add, we could also specify the dependency level as "Total" or "Partial"
Total: For a CIT texture pack.
Partial: For a the texture pack that only uses the mod to add, for example, emissive textures.
- Similar to how we can filter texture packs by resolution or game version, we could also filter only Vanilla texture packs, or vice versa, filter only texture packs that depend on well known mods (either partially or totally) such as Optifine.
- If no mod is indicated in this section, the texture pack would be classified as Vanilla.
(An experimental idea could be that those texture packs that have a dependency on Optifine have a small flag in the top right or left corner with the Optifine logo)
- It would also be nice if this information also appears in the main section, for example:
For Vanilla texture packs:
16x 1.19 Simplistic texture pack
Vanilla
For texture packs that depend on only 1 mod:
16x 1.19 Simplistic texture pack
ModName + dependent
For texture packs that depend on multiple mods:
16x 1.19 Simplistic texture pack
Mod dependent
Many people don't use mods for various reasons, so having the ability to scroll through PMC only between Vanilla texture packs is a good way for them to find something not only to their liking, but also within their gameplay possibilities!
