  first time using charcoal and i have a list of pros and cons

  its fun
  covers a lot of space fast
  negative space drawings wheee
  you can smudge it super easy AND rub it out
  you don’t have to sharpen it like a pencil
  different angles for different effects

  goes EVERYWHERE
  makes a weird squeaky noise sometimes (ew)
  fingerprints
  when you do rub it out it leaves a mark
  did i mention it goes. E V E R Y W H E R E
