Wow, it's been a long time since I've been in this text editor. Welcome Ladies and Gentleblocks to yet another thoughtful blog done by yours truly. It has been a while (4 months to be precise) since I have written an actual blog with actual readable content. Why? Well I just never felt the urge to go ahead and blog about a particular issue or topic.
Not only that, a combination of exams, socialising and writing for a gaming website means that I haven't had much spare time on my hands. A few other menagerie points, thanks for supporting my other blogs during my absence and I have nearly hit 1,500 subscribers which is also a fantastic achievement, so thank you. But now... onto the blog!
As a child, you were probably getting a bit sick of your parents banging on about making the most of your life before you grow up and to have fun and to cherish the memories you were creating at that time. The sad thing is, they were genuinely telling the truth. Recently the year above me at college (high school in America I would assume) left to venture off on gap years or to go to university and with their departure there was an array of socials, parties and dinners to bid them farewell.
This gave (for the most part) the students in my year, myself included, a bit of a shock and fright because to think that in one year we would all be experiencing the same... It rang alarm bells in my mind that I have only got one year left in my teenage life to enjoy the things that I can do before having to go head first into this big and scary world filled with taxes, debts, relationships and more. But it obviously isn't all over, there's still the gap year to look forward to as well as university if you do choose to go which will be even more fun but again, even that won't last forever. It won't be long until we will have to go out, get a job and begin living our life.
Now this all sounds very depressing, and it is in a way but that doesn't mean we should all sit here mumbling and grumbling about how terrible our life is going to be. What we should do instead is to cherish what we have right now, take some risks and create special friendships or even relationships with the people who surround you. Someone asks you to go kayaking with them around some islands? Don't turn it down, you might have a hip injury in 2 years time that will prevent you from ever doing that again. Well, ok again getting a bit drastic, but you get my point.
Growing up is sadly a huge part of our life and it won't stop as soon as you hit 18, we will keep maturing and gaining more knowledge and experience (xp-hoar) as we grow older and older and this isn't at all a bad thing. You will come to enjoy life as it is and the small things in it that will just bring a smile to your face but just because your parents or carers won't be there to financially or emotionally support you, doesn't mean that it's all over.
The following video pretty much encapsulates what I have just written and every point they make is to some extent true.
So remember, the next time your parents tell you to make the most of life now then actually do it because they know better than anyone about the hardships of life. They will always have the best advice and they will always be there to help guide you through growing up.

I do not support this. I believe that you should listen to the wise, as the wise know BETTER than your parents (Shock and horror) in most given situations. This is why they are called wise.
These said wise people MAY be your parents, grandparents, or a friend of yours. If a truly wise person tells you that living life to the max is a mistake, they're probably right, and if they know this, not from personal experience, but from seeing such actions affect others, you should listen to them.
While I do not debate the idea of making the most of childhood, I will argue that sometimes you parents or important figure(s) in your life will not know what is best for you, but what they WANT to be the best for you.
You are likely the most important person in your life, and as such, should not let it be entirely dictated by the will of others.
Back to the original topic, NEVER adopt the YOLO model. NEVER. Not only can we not prove that the motto is actually true, but that way of life includes many unwise philosophies. You cannot achieve anything without putting in the right amount of effort. If you use your youth to put you in a position where you can enjoy your life, it will likely turn out better than if you try to enjoy youth before 'fun' things become difficult.
Kinda reminds me of my pre18 years, so many things that I'm happy about that I did then, instead of now
