Here is the long-awaited Émile Bertin of the Marine Nationale! Built from 1931 to 1935, and refitted multiple times since, Émile Bertin served as a light cruiser-minelayer for the French navy. During the second world war, Émile Bertin acted as a flotilla leader and carried out numerous missions in which she bore gold to small islands for safekeeping. After the French Armistice, she served under Vichy France, before rejoining the Allied forces in 1943, where she underwent her first refit. Her post-war career was fairly uneventful. She, however, received her last refit in 1945.
