What if's, that's what steampunk is all about isn't it?
What if Pancho Villa had been armed by the Germans at the start of the Mexican-American war with a pair of early production model that would become the Krabbe class Landkreuzer. Of course, battlefield modifications would become necessary, complex parts and such broken and such in the field of battle and rough terrain, so it would need to be jerry rigged to operate. The Battle of Guerrero was when the first proto-Krabbe, La Libertad, was critically damaged. As such it was melded with the second proto-Krabbe and named in honor of the transport that brought these weapons of war.
I decided to make something based on the Krabbe, I almost decided on an upgraded version but then decided to go backwards to the Mexican-American war. I decided against the external forward armor and decided to make it more along the lines of maidenhead, a distinct 'face' that made the ship recognizable from the front.
I also decided to address the problem of ground access with forward elevators...I realized that the Krabbe was pretty inaccessible and would be a tomb if it went down, but such were tanks in WW1. Its also a wee bit front heavy I think due to the more rear-ward placement of legs, albeit potentially balanced out when you take into account the fuel storage and engine weight.
The schematic doesn't have an interior since the interior I would like couldn't be done properly in Minecraft so I will leave it up to anyone who wants to take on the challenge.
