Description:

As its name suggests, it simply adds a Japanese-style sliding door to the game.

How it works:

This sliding door replaces Oak Door

I made textures of the door itself, before making a model with a different opening state style into it — instead of rotating the door 90 degrees, I just move the door to the side outside the zone by around 90% of the whole model. I name the model the same as vanilla, then import and edit the blockstate file of the Oak Door a bit to make the door work as it should.

Backstory:

This was made around 2 years ago (July 2021) since I started making Minecraft resource packs. At the time, I was playing around with the NicoRTX resource pack; hence, I had an idea of Japanese door models that look like they actually can slide. I suggest it to Nico's Discord server, but I think they didn't see it :P. However, besides Nico's Discord server, I also showed it in VanillaTweaks Discord server — the responses were pretty good, and it inspired astroidbuster-VE to create the Supermarket Iron Doors resource pack.

Ha I made this as well for my resource pack. It’s unfortunate that the collision mesh remains unchanged.
