Before...
I smiled at the bright sunlight casting a warm shadow over the square feilds of golden wheat. Me and Cammy held hands, walking through the forest by our house. It was a beautiful Minecraft day, but I had a strange feeling in my stomach. I identified the feeling as dread. Dread that danger was coming. I had tried to push it away, but I was afraid. Afraid for me, for Cammy, for everyone. I shoved it deep down inside me as Cammy slowed to pet a baby sheep drinking from a stream. Suddenly, tremors shook the earth, causing Cammy to fall headfirst into the stream, dragging me with her. The cold of the water was horrible, freezing my bones and making my teeth chatter. Cammy. I thought. I needed to save her. I frantically looked around, looking for her. With the horrible tremors, the stream was going too fast. I had lost Cammy. I tried frantically to get to the bank so I could search easier, but the tremors weren't stopping. I cried. The tremors eventually stopped, and I managed to get to the shore. Cammy was nowhere in sight. I ran to the house and turned on the TV. There was a live news report. The reporter was frantically shouting. She was saying there were cracks appearing everywhere. Corpses littered the streets behind her. Suddenly, a tremor rocked the earth and I saw the reporter scream before the camera went black. I ran to get to the door, but a tremor knocked me to the ground and everything went black,
After...
I woke to the sound of a cow mooing. My head hurt and my arms and legs ached. I put a hand to my head and started. My hand was a square and so was the rest of me. "What the..." I wondered aloud. I opened my eyes. Everything was square. I was freaked out, but I figured I might as well explore a little. I climbed shakily to my feet, and found that the flatness of them kept me steady. I looked around. There were square animals everywhere. The mooing I'd heard came from one of the square cows standing nearby. It was actually kind of cute. I kept moving. I was in a forest full of square trees and square water. I couldn't remember anything. My head was fuzzy and I couldn't form a coherent thought. I hated being like this, but I was helpless against it. Suddenly, a memory came to me. It was the face of a girl.


Cammy. The name came to me and filled me with a calm warmth. I couldn't place her in my memory, but I knew one thing: I needed her. I kept walking, keeping Cammy's face in my memory. I looked to my left and saw some kind of weird green stone. I frowned, walking towards it. I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but I was curious. I peered around one side of the structure, seeing a door. I walked through it, into total darkness. I heard a noise. It was part growl, part hiss, and no parts human. I ran, not daring to look back. I didn't like this world. I just wanted my memories back. I wanted to know who Cammy was, what she meant to me, how I'd lost her. I looked up to a ray of sunlight, the sun was setting. Another memory flashed. I was smiling, holding hands with someone. It was a perfect feeling, and I closed my eyes to the flush of emotion coursing through me. I hoped I would keep getting these flashes untill I had all of my memories back. I saw something in the distanvce, and hesitated. What if that thing from the stone structure was there? What if something else was there? I thought for a moment, then squared my shoulders. I had to check it out. There might be others like me there. I looked once more to the setting sun, and took the first step towards my new life.
