Step 1: Dont be afraid to experiment with color, your palette should always include 4+ different shades. (Or colors) I reccomend that you use colors that go well together - there are many Minecraft sites that can help you with this.
Step 2: Organics is difficult, don't be upset if it proves to be hard. Slowly progress for fast success! For trees I reccomend that you do them by hand, mountains, hills, oceans, and creatures should be done with VS.
Step 3: Don't use flat walls in your exterior, it deprives depth from your build. You can add depth by adding pillars, and roofs that stick out more.
Step 4: When creating an interior don't fret about the walls, adding detail to interior walls is not necessary - your interior aspects will take away from the bare walls. (You should add detail in large spaces though)
Step 5: Don't be afraid to experiment with your own interior aspects, creating your own furniture designs can make your build unique, it also allows you to be more creative - you can also ask a friend to review your masterpiece!
