Let's talk about griefers. Why do griefers grief? Most likely because they think it's fun, or they're just mean. Nobody really knows for sure, except, well, a griefer, but I'm not here to talk about why griefers grief, I'm here to tell you how you can deal with griefers, so here are 5 ways to prevent griefers from griefing.
Number 1; If you see who griefed you, THEN FOR GOD'S SAKE REPORT THEM!!!!! Some people, even if they see the person that griefed them, just decide to forgive and forget, but that will not stop griefers, they will just keep griefing, be it you, or somebody else.
Number 2; Camouflage your house. Build a crappy house out of sand, gravel, and dirt, then create a secret door on the floor leading to your REAL house (If you don't know how to make a secret redstone door then look up a tutorial on YouTube.) Put nothing in the house. The griefer will come inside, see nothing, and probably leave, but if the griefer is a mega jerk, they might destroy the house anyway, which is fine because I've noticed, walking by griefed houses, griefers usually only destroy the walls, and since the secret door would be on the floor, you real house would be safe.
Number 3; Build your house really high in the sky, so even on the farthest render distance, nobody will be able to see the house. Don't worry about getting up to your house, just set it as your faction home then do /f home to get to it, and to get down? Put a 4 by 4 hole of water then place a trapdoor above the water so you can jump into it. You'll be safe from griefers, other players, and even mobs!
Number 4; Use signs. Most faction servers have a nifty feature where you can put [Private] then go down a space and type your Minecraft username, and when you press done, the thing you placed the sign on will be yours and only yours, to open or destroy. It works for doors, fence gates, chests, hoppers, anvils, dispensers, droppers, furnaces, and blocks, so pretty much everything you can place down. If you don't want to have your house covered in signs, then claim your house using /f claim untill every part of your house is claimed, assuming you have a faction, You should still use the [Private] on the doors though, griefers can use the doors if you don't use [Private] on them!
Number 5; Dig down to bedrock, place the dirt from your tunnel back, then build an underground base! Nobody will know it's there but you. You can claim it just to be sure, if you want, but your house should be safe way down underground. To get to it, just like with option number 3, set your faction home there then use / f home to get to it, and to get to the surface, just set it as your regular home with /home, then you can use either /home to get to the surface, or /f home to get to your house.
I hope these 5 options will help all you people out there will grifer problems on the servers you play on, thanks for reading!
