First, you need Java,
Then, you want to download the minecraft.exe file from minecraft.net and open it
It will generate the client files & it will have the latest version (right now :1.8.3)
You need an Internet connection for the 1st time, to download the files, it should take a minute or two



After it has finished, you want to make a single player world by clicking "Singleplayer" > "Create New World" > Enter a name
for the world and click "Create new world" > Tick-tock-tick-tock *1-2 mins* > done!

Do NOT do HardCore mode! If you die just once, your world will be DELETED; therefore, do NOT do hardcore mode unless you are very good at Minecraft, therefore, YOLO!


What you want to do next is find your closest tree and "punch" it (hold the left key to attack & break blocks) hold the left button, otherwise, you will have to repeat it; after you have 3-4 pieces of wood, go to your inventory (press E) and place the wood pieces into the 2x2 crafting grid, that gives you wood, which you need to build your house, otherwise, you risk dying by night-time & darkness spawning monsters
