Another belated ending poem that was to symbolize the frost during its writing session, along with the notion "long united, must divide; long divided, must unite" through countless hours of reading Three Kingdoms-related contents.
Also based on part of Stan Ridgway's Camouflage, originally a song during the Vietnam War. Part of Festival of Frost Jam.

As the ancients said,
Long united, must divide.
War and peace together,
Authority long lost in the wind,
The darkest times in history.
But who knows in the cold?

"A pawn on search patrol, hunting foes down,
In the cold wars of twenty-two.
Weapon froze and all alone,
and movements close outside.
A ice snap and countdown of fate,
Another savior, with a pair of friendly eyes.
Coming in close beside me,
With two to dodge together.

How the bullets missed him,
Took a chance and ran above all.
Near the pines came the ambush,
A letter buzzing through a bush.
And caught intact with a hand,
Just like it was a fly!

Big pine right up out of the ground,
Swatting from here to kingdom come.
Winking from the pines and gone,
The guard led to a camp.
'You may be telling true,
Before, he said Semper Fi and his only wish.
Your safety in holiday spirit.
So here take his diary,
According to his wish.'
And a Christmas prayer made for him."

A war of pointless means,
All followed the general trend.
A hope inside the chilling heart
A Christmas Truce comeback

And so it shall be:
Long divided, must unite.
