I still didn't know what I wanted to do. Something inside me had told me to go upstairs in your room, but I don't know why. I decided to look out the window at the kingdom again, like I had did earlier today. When I looked out, I saw that it was getting dark, so I decided to go to bed. I didn't even say "good night" to anyone. I was just so tired... with all the craziness that's been going on since the war started. (There's something you might want to know. Everyone just refers to the war as THE war. Like the mother of all wars, or something. It's the worst one we've seen in so long, THE war just sound appropriate.) My bed is beautiful, just like the rest of the castle. It has a purple (my favorite color) canopy hanging over it, and on the inside of the canopy I hung up all my good drawings. I love to draw, and I can draw really well. The ones inside the canopy are a drawing of the castle, one of me, one of my mom, one of my dad, and one of the world, with "WORLD PEACE" written in every available space on the paper. No one knows that that picture's there, only I do. I don't let anyone but me come into my room, not even the maid-my room's extremely messy. My bed also stands on a ledge, so you have to take a step up to get on. I love it, and I don't wish for any other type.
The dreams I had that night were weird. I had always gotten weird dreams, every since I was 9, but this one takes the cake. In one part, I dreamed I was on the battlefield of the war, right in the middle. I could see everyone swinging their swords at one another, but they went right through me. Like I was a ghost no one could see. And after awhile, I was in front of my father, going against the king of Fireblade. He took one swing at my father and instantly killed him.
In another part, I dreamed I was my mother in the on-field nurse tent, trying to keep up with all the survivors of a blade wound. The screams, the blood, the surgery... it was all too much. One after another, the friend of the victim brought him in. Knowing I couldn't do anything, my head blew.
And in the last part, I was dark and I was in the woods. I was walking down a trail with someone I didn't know. When I turned to look at them, I saw a cute guy. That's all I remember. No facial features or anything. I probably knew what he looked like when I was dreaming, and maybe it was someone I knew, but it was one of those things you forget when you wake up, no matter how much you try to remember.
I woke up in a cold sweat. Probably not from the last part, but the other two. It was a perfect sunny day outside, and it showed no clue of any war going on. It didn't fit my dream at all. I couldn't help thinking my dream was a sign of something. Was my father going to die in a battle against the king of Fireblade? Possibly. Was my mother going to be so frustrated with helping out with the soldiers, her head will explode? You tell me. Was I going to meet a cute boy one day? I don't know. But a girl can dream...
Today was my mother's first day of nursing for the soldiers. She would leave at noon, and after that, I basically ruled the kingdom.
"I wouldn't say you were RULING it," said my mother after I pointed that out, "Think of it as practice. For when you're queen one day. If anything goes wrong, I will be notified, but you can try to fix it yourself. Show me you ARE capable of running a kingdom."
"Thanks Mom. And good luck!" I said. It would be noon in about 5 minutes.
"Take care sweetie. I don't want to come back here and see the castle in ruins." she joked.
"I won't, Mom." She hugged me, and then she left. She likes to be places early.
So this is it. I'm alone in this huge castle. Well, not alone. There's still the servants, the maids, the butlers, the cooks, and the jester. There around somewhere. This place is so big, and I hate to admit it, but even with all those people, it feels empty without mom and dad.
I walked all around the castle, looking for something to do. You might think there are endless wonders in a castle, but there's not. The most exciting thing there is are books. I messed with some of the redstone contraptions a little bit, tried to read a novel, and tweaked with the farm, but these all bored me. I went back up to my room and took out my drawing pad and pencil, and decided to draw my fantasy of the kingdom.
