Now note that this is just my view and I wish not to offend anyone.

I never really did favor HD textures. I mean yes they looked great and must'v taken quite a lot of time, but I never could fully enjoy it! When you get down to it the blocks are still blocks and animals are still animals. Which yes this would be great, if it wasn't that the blocks are cubes and the mobs look like a block with tooth picks for legs! Once you actually have a HD texture pack like 256x or 128x playing you can look at a mob and though it has this super realistic look to it. The whole feel is ruined by it's head being a giant square. I don't want a dog who's head looks like a defective toaster (I don't want a dog in Minecraft in general). If your gonna have a dog with a toaster for a head then you might as well have it look more natural, like it should actually look like that! Point is a higher resolution won't better it, just prevent it from blending into the world of Minecraft.

A realistic world should not be attempted in Minecraft when all it does is create a world that cannot blend with everything. This texture pack does not make this cube hill look anymore real just unnatural! At least when it comes to the art works, Mobs, and items you can at least see some realism with, but again it wont look natural when you're using you 2D pickax on a square tree! At least with the Watermelons they can be square, because that's how Japan packages them. That at least makes some sense!

The point here is that with the regular 16x textures it looks more natural, because that is what Minecraft was designed for. The 16x texture packs look natural, it doesn't try to pride itself on making realist looks, but rather let you know your in a game! Games now in days try way to hard with that, they want you to think you really are there! You don't need a realistic feel to a "Game". If you want that you can go outside and punch a tree till you get wood (which will most likely be stuck in your hand). Even a 32x doesn't pride itself to look real, it just gives more details towards it's unrealistic look! When you get to down to it you want a "Game" that blends natural and feels normal like you're actually playing a "Game".

Now this is just my view and I don't wish to offend anyone who works hard towards there texture packs. If you have any views you wish to share feel free to comment!

I agree. Certain high definition texture packs do, however, in my opinion, manage to pull off a blocky yet detailed look. These packs seem more to be geared towards being detailed as supposed to being high definition, and they often are just highly detailed versions of the default texture pack. The texture packs that are high definition but geared towards overhauling the entire game, however, are useless in my opinion, as they stray too far from the original texture pack. In my opinion, there is only one pack that is able to pull off the highly detailed default pack, actually. That pack is none other than Ovocean's Rustic Pack. Overall, I found this to be a very accurate blog, and I completely agree.

It doesn't seem natural in my eyes. I just don't feel like it works correctly! It doesn't "blend"! Though I have found some 32x to look good, like DokuCraft and JungleCraft. Both great looking textures that don't pride themselves to look real!

Thanks glad to see you enjoyed it. I'm not particularly happy saying this, because I feel I'll start a "Flame War", but glad you liked it!
