For the first time ever I had bought my own copy of a game, and I was scared. Scared that it wouldn't work. anything I had been given before was a cartridge for the N64 or myGame-boyadvance, this was something I couldn't touch. Something online. And I was right to be scared, the day I bought it the servers crashed and I couldn't log into my account! >.<

After a few days of contacting support the problem was resolved and I finally got to log in an hour before I was supposed to sleep. I was plopped in the middle of a desert and didn't have a clue what to do, I walked around, dug some sand and tried to find a forest. Suddenly it was night time and I was still in the desert, by this point I had figured out walking intocacti damaged you and so had gathered some to use as a weapon.

I tried hitting the monsters but died over and over again, I was running in complete darkness when i fell into a small hole, I tried placing the cactus around me as a barricade and it worked! this was the first successful thing I had done in mine-craft, so I waited till the morning, collected several bones, spider bits and rotten meat. After walking for a little bit I found the edge of the desert and the beginning of a gigantic mountain.

I decided to make my home in the mountain, like something you would see in a James Bond movie. but after digging a little bit of it out I ran straight into a dungeon! I had to fight several zombies with my bare hands and block it back up quickly, I tried asking my friend how to stop them coming back to life in there so I could reach the chest and found out that I needed to fill it with light.

So i tunneled a massive hole in the mountain to let light into the chamber and loot the chests, I remember finding 2 saddles, some iron and an apple. not the most amazing loot, but you had to remember I had never seen any of this before! After trying to put the saddle on random animals for a bit I discovered the only animal I could ride was the pig, and so I mounted the pig as it randomly walked around and I thought I was controlling it.

So as the sun set in the distance and my pig decided to drown the both of us I knew in that instant, This game is what I had been waiting for. I was instantly addicted.
