First off, this article is not meant to offend anyone. I respect everyone no matter what their beliefs. This is simply a personal opinion.

I'v always been awed by the vastness and mystery of space scenic my childhood. Every night I looked up and saw a whole new world. Through the years, as I learned more and more about the mysterious world, I started to wonder about what could be out there. As a little side note, I'm not insane, just sharing some things that I think about on occasion. But is anyone really sane? Another little question you might want to think a little more about. Anyways, although I learned a lot about the first layer of space, i had much to learn.

I learned that space was a vast vacuum, the boundless, three-dimensional extent in which objects and events occur and have relative position and direction. I learned of physics, and how it impacts the world around us, and thanks to videogames, I took trips to space, and was introduced to possibilities. TV documentaries also filled in the holes that were not covered in my intrigue.

But then the question, "are we alone?" began to haunt me. I do have to say that the media can have a big influence in the credibility of an individual, what with all their sci-fy touch on movies, but if you really think about it, can we really be the only life baring planet? I mean there are billions and billions of galaxies, each one supporting up to hundreds, and maybe even thousands of planets. "But we have no proof that there are other living beings" yeah but do we have proof that there aren't? We haven't even fully mapped out our solar system let alone our own galaxy. So how can we know for sure that in our own solar system there isn't a less civilized, life bearing planet, waiting for contact? What I'm really trying to get at here is that due to the vastness of space, and the always generating nebulas found in numbers in galaxies, how does one say that we are alone?

I talked to a group of Jewish men, past of their church for over 20 years each, about this topic, and they said that we cannot dismiss the idea that we are not alone. Their holy script says god created everything from nothing, one of god's sayings is let there be light. But what if by let there be light he created the big bang? This is what one of the men asked me, it really made me think about religion, and how it could be tied to all of this.

What if there was once a thriving galactic empire? I know it sounds weird, but there have been many galaxies that have been around for far far longer than we have, what if that empire simply vanished over time to natural phenomenons, or we simply have not found them.

All these questions still stick in my head today, they are all simply personal thoughts, but if you just stop and wonder, the galaxy speaks to you, and becomes more and more mysterious. Please leave a comment stating your opinion, thanks.

Well, the universe is far too big for us to be the only planet to support life. I am indeed religious, though its silly to think we're alone.
