Introduction
Hello People of Planet Minecraft, Flicker here with another Blog, a special blog that remembers 2012. So lets jump in shall we? To start things off, 2012 was a spectacular year In general, for instance, Gangnam style broke all records on youtube and got 1 billion views. Here in the U.S.A President Obama was Re-elected, and a whole bunch of other fun stuffs! But, Lets focus on the things Minecraft Related (Because Minecraft is pretty awesome.)
Events and opinion on them.
Well, let's see if my incredibly short termed Memory can remember some of the greatest things that happened for the Minecraft community in 2012... Update wise, Minecraft 1.1 was released in January the first update of the 2012 year, (woo!) This update included enchantable bows, fence gates that can be open & closed with redstone, sheep being able to regrow they're wool, and a whole bunch of other Cool stuffs! Soon, on March 1st 1.2.1 was released! this update included jungles, ocelots, iron golems, new blocks, new textures, and.. The new mob AI (artificial intelligence) Which put a lot of old mob traps in which mobs would just walk into a hole in the ground out of use. Soon 1.2.2, and 1.2.3 were released, and then 1.2.4 came out, introducing 4 types of new woods, clickable and copy-able and paste-able links in, in game chat. then in 1.2.5 some small updates such as a new way to activate tnt with flint and steel, and a new pick block key came out. And then, after 5 months, 1.3.1 was released with a HEAPING WHOLE BUNCH OF FEATURES! Lets see, jungle temples, desert temples, ender chest, emeralds, trading with villagers, trip wire hooks, Adventure mode, a new creative inventory, and so much more! then 1.4 came, with even more stuff: slimes spawning above ground in swamps, carrot on a stick, potatoes, carrots, mobs can be amoured, and villagers can turn into zombies, turning into a zombie apocalypse (2012 end of the world fanatics were let down in the real world, but they can make it happen in Minecraft) Added Bats, Witchs, Wither skeleton, and the Wither boss (all amazing). And tons of more stuff! Now lets get to my opinion, All these updates are amazing, each one brings new features to Minecraft making the game better then ever, with all these new features Minecraft is getting a bigger population, and more creative minds. Thank goodness Jeb and Notch and ALL of Mojang are cool people, if they were mean and grumpy then Minecraft wouldn't have such a good community (Thanks Mojang!)
Minecraft Parody Songs
With 2012 more songs came out, meaning new Minecraft parodies would soon come out to, Bebopvox, Released a number of songs such as "don't mine at night) and "Mine" and lets not forget "I found a diamond" Which all were really good, and enjoyable. Another notable song, was "cube land" sung by Laura shigihara, and animated by Slamacow, it proved to be a great enjoyable memorable, song, Now lets not forget out favorite duo in the Parody song business, Captainsparklez and Tryhardninja! These guys always make Top of the Notch (he he get it) song parodies, This year they produced two, Fallen kingdom, and Minecraft Style, Fallen kingdom was by far a great song parody, one that I found myself listening to over and over. But Minecraft, style, Ha, That song is very catchy and the lyrics pretty sick too. Sadly the song was copyrighted and almost got taken down, but Captainsparklez is a genie, and he managed to get it back! (Leave diamonds for the Captain and his crew!) Now My opinion on these songs: I love all Minecraft songs, even if they are bad or good. These types of songs get popular fast, and they spread to people who have never seen Minecraft, making the community bigger, and more awesomer, and these songs are catchy to listen to in your free time or while your mining. These songs are amazing and cool I have a feeling as long as Minecraft exist, they will exist to.

To be honest guys, 2012 was an amazing year, I was a little sad when it officially turned 2013, but if the community continues to work as we normally do, we can make 2013 an even more awesome year. There's nothing we cannot accomplish. So, lets make this year a great one!
