Best Creeper Defense?

what is my best way to defend against those annyoying creepers?! REALLY I HATE THEM! i mean come on every time they blow up my house they always leave me with all the hard work: REBUILDING!!! whenever creepers make me have to rebuild i know there has to be a better defense other than fences and torches to keep away creepers. please tell me how to defend against them! ANYONE!!!

Build a nig wall but in the area around your house put torches and make the floor glass as monsters don't spawn on glass or just beat them a feather

im in peaceful im gathering up ideas so i can be safe on at least easy mode...the wall idea is still good but it is getting old
