Hello all once again, Greytopher here with another blog. Sorry for the lack of uploads, school comes first! Anyways, in this blog I will be talking about the 'new' blog rules that will be implemented over time, and I will be talking about the ups and downs about these for bloggers alike. Note: Not ALL of these rules will be implemented, they were ideas of what to do with the blogs section. I'm preparing for the worst. Let's begin! I also want to thank Kerrtastic for writing about this topic as well in his blog. He gave me inspiration to write about it, and you should check out his blog!

Strictly Blogging Minecraft...

As this being a minecraft fansite and all, I totally understand why they want to implement this rule. This rule states that anything non-minecraft related will be moved to the forums, and the blogging section will be strictly minecraft related content. This can be both PMC and Youtube, but the main force of what this is trying to prevent is kids posting about their CoD montages and let's play videos not relating to minecraft. I totally understand this, don't get me wrong, but I do have a slight problem with this as well.

When I first started blogging a couple of months ago, I fell in love with the websites blogging section because of it's diversity. The website is highly known for its diversity in its forums and its blogging section, and that's what I love about it. We've developed such a great community, and can talk about literally anything without being shot down. This new blogging rule will take a lot of good blogs out of submission (maybe). Possibly some of my blogs may be taken down, even the one that got me started in the whole blogging business.

I like the forums, though it's really not the place to be for some blogs. Some blogs should be accessable from your account, instead of them barely being seen. The only thing that I actually see that are of importance in the forums are hubs that are constantly spammed, and sticky-d announcements.

Removing XP For Blogging....

Although I'm no XP hoar, the xp system is there for a reason; to give reward to those who submit, and those who submit may get popular and recieve XP for doing good (some times, not always). Removing XP giving from blogging submissions in my eyes, would be devistating. If anything, the blogging section would become worse, because of lack of effort put into the blogs. Although we see this today, we gain effort since we are rewarded with XP. Removing this reward will only make quality blogs be very rare, and a lot of people may stop blogging because of it.

If XP is removed from posting blogs, I for one will shrink down 10 levels or more. So will OliverFrenchie, Snowylips, Dingousa, and other known bloggers. It will cause havoc in the community, as people like us will lose the rewards we've gained by doing this for the community. It's not that we're XP farming, it's just that something we were given is taken away.

Removing Player Made Contests...

I can TOTALLY see where they're coming from on this one, as this contest idea from players can definitely be used to an advantage. It can be used for XP farming, and they could advertise a false prize. As legit as this may be, not all contests are like this. I haven't (yet) seen a contest with a good prize be scammed, the only contests I tend to see are contests from Dinowcookie and Snowylips. Dinowcookie, as I know, posts contests often, and the moderators seem to be okay with it.

Recently, Snowylips posted a contest, then a site moderator who shall not be named, removed her post then banned her from commenting on other blogs. It was way too far, as for one, the new rules haven't been in affect, and two, other well known PMCers have done contests in the past. Why is her case so special to do this? As of now, I don't know if her ban is removed or not, but she was very disappointed in how it was handled. She had hosted contests before, and were legit about giving the prizes away.

I for one, have hosted a contest not too long ago, and offered two first place prizes, and the person who won got to choose what. I was completely fair with it, and as long as we're fair, I don't think it should be a problem.

Too Much Change in Too Little Time!

As PMC is growing, there is a lot of change going along with it aswell. Us being humans, we're not so prone to quick change. As far back as history goes, whenever one large government gives sudden and fast change, all hell breaks loose. But, if you do gradual change, it won't be as bad.

Like in the french revolution, King Louis XVI (I think!) was beheaded by the people of France, since too much change happened in too little of time. The people grew mad, since too much was going on. We don't want to behead Cyprezz, do we?

My advice would be to tone it down a little bit; make the change as slow as possible, to keep the community off of the moderators butts.

Thanks for reading! If you liked it, leave a diamond, favorite, and above all, subscribe for more content!
