Factions the ugly truth






Factions servers are fun servers to play on…in the beginning. Once one of these servers has been around for any length of time the status quo starts to set it and it’s almost impossible for anyone to move up in the world. Let me extrapolate.










The Problem:



In the beginning everyone is on equal playing ground. All the mcmmo levels are set to 0 and aside from the personal alliances people have everybody is against everybody. Everyone has nothing no one person is all powerful. Then as time progress people begin to obtain wealth and factions are created and start to grow. Eventually there are several big factions with one common goal, being the strongest. These big factions know that it’s in their best interest to help out the other large factions for everyone to stay strong. For example, there is a new faction with about 5 members. They are starting to gain wealth and prestige; they are building up their resources. Now these big factions know one of two things can happen. They can leave this new aspiring faction alone and they could prosper to become a faction like them one day, or they can intervene. They can pair up with their allied factions to destroy the up-and-coming faction.



The Ugly Truth:



Now I bet you’re asking yourself why they care. Won’t this new faction just get as big as them and as long as they stay in good relations with them they will have another powerful ally? They actually destroy these factions for two reasons. 1. They will immediately gain a little bit of wealth from the raid, pushing their faction up just a little bit further. 2. To keep the common masses at bay. By eliminating this faction they do two things to help this. First they make an example of them. This shows all other members of the server that if you become too powerful they will find you and destroy you. Second, it makes it where there are less people at the top. The fewer the people who have the most power the fewer they resources have to be spread among them. The fewer factions the less of a fight for materials, diamonds, armor, land. It’s in their best interest for them to get rid of them.
