You should edit models to position guns correctly in your hand, a lot of mods don't do that and it makes guns look weird.

Have you considered using Blockbench or something similar to make custom models for the guns?

blockbench is a very easy-to-use program, it only took me a few minutes to get the gist and it's really quick to get the hang of. I highly recommend it for minecraft models, cause you can do that modelling texturing and even the positioning (how it's positioned in your hand, the gui etc) all in one program
