Hey guys. This is how I make my starter home in minecraft:
What I do is I either make it 5x7, 7x9, 9x11, and so on.
I make the corners oak logs and make the rest oak wooden planks.
I usually make windows on every side, for the pretty daylight, you know :)
Then I add the roof. I make the roof out of oak wooden stairs and oak wooden slabs at the top. I put the stairs up on both sides until they meet. Then I put slabs in the middle on top.
I always put a wooden door.
For the flooring; I put down oak wooden planks but on the outsides, oak logs. In the corners, I put the logs facing up.
I used Sphax PureBDCraft 128x texture pack for this blog, and many others :D It's good.
