Ello all, Oscar Wilde ere! So I was puttin' a shrimp on the barby when I realized that I haven't given Diamond's wonderful subscribers a tutorial in a while. So thought about this one so I could write it.

Simple Does Not Fix Lag.
As awesome as the idea may sound simple texture packs do not fix lag. If you are wanting to find a texture pack that won't lag you out try looking for an 8x, 4x, or I've even seen a 1x, or was that 2x? Doesn't matter. Just remember that You can't use simple packs just to fix lag.
No OCD Pack Does Not Actually Work for OCD.
But Oscar, the pack is called OCD Pack. Does that really matter? I can make a game and call it OCD Game, will it help someone with OCD? Probably not. The basic is that OCD Pack is just another simple texture pack sorry to break it to you.

1. Choose Your Style
Now that we got passed the guidelines I guess I should get on with the tutorial. Step one is choose your style. Do you want Medieval? Simple? Comic-y? Every texture pack has a style. Try to find one that fits you. Personally, I prefer comic-y thus I use Sphax Pure BDCraft, while Diamond prefers simple so he used OCD Pack. Ahh the contradictions.

2. Choose How Many Pixels You Want
This is a very important step, because the number of pixels can base the game on how it plays. If you have a computer that's slow, but not embarrassing I suggest using a texture pack that is 64x and below. Usually the post will say how many bits there are. If you have an insanely slow computer I suggest sticking to 16x. However, if you have a gaming computer, or just a very good computer, go ahead! Use any bit you want, just remember that every texture pack is different.
3. Choose Whether You Want Sound Or Not
Now that Mojang has changed Texture Packs to resource packs you can manipulate sound. A lot of texture...resource packs don't use the sound function to their advantage. If you want different sound I suggest trying out Noxcrew's resource pack..just kidding I'm not going to be biased. Honestly use whatever you want, I think that the sound feature is an amazing addition to the already wonderful game of Minecraft.

4. Choose Your Website
I'm guessing you're going to pick Planet Minecraft to get your texture pack, but I suggest that you should look around a bit more. If you find the perfect texture pack here that's great, but if you want something different you can find many different places. Minecraftforums...that's all I know. Try googling what you want, generally it will take you to Planet Minecraft, but to a texture pack that you hadn't recently viewed. Either way try to look, not just in Planet Minecraft, but the whole internet.

Tips:
Okay I'm done with the steps. Choosing your texture pack is very easy. However, there are some tips needed.
  • Make sure the texture pack is for 1.6 or whatever version you happen to be using at the time you are reading this.
  • Take people's advice. If someone recommends a texture pack check it out, you don't have to use it just check it out.
  • Try to find one that's at least half complete.
  • If you are using this texture pack to make let's plays don't pick a dark texture pack.

That's all I have for today. I'm going to hand this blog off to Diamond so he can finalize it and add the links. If you have a question about one of my tutorials or have a suggestion for a tutorial please don't hesitate to PM Diamonddozen or Tweet me @DiamondBlogPMC with the hashtag #OTTSL.
