Okay, so if your looking at this... your either looking for helpfull information ir just bored sh*tless like me =D
Here are some tips for creating new servers!!!
1. Okay, so if you look at 99.9999999999% of servers today, you can see that they are ALL minecraft faction servers...However, there are few regular survival servers...Therefore, a survival server with plugins such asessentials, maybe teams, and other basic plugins would be your best shot at a popular server.
2. Have a simple friggin spawn!!!!! Seriously? What drives people to have overly complicated castles and mega
structures as spawn?????
3. Have your planet minecraft picture look BASIC! For example, a good picture would be a still image ofmaybe...spawn...or a player shooting an arrow.
4. Update on planet minecraft ALOT!!!! More people will come to your server!!!
5. Get NoCheat.... Nuf said...
6. Don't be that jerk admin who pisses off the player by tp killing and spawning items for people....
7. Give people SMALL rewards for voting or diamonding your server... remember SMALL
8. Be on your own server frequently! To investigate hackers/Trollers/Griefers/ Etc...
9. Have fun =D

Also get the Multi world plugin so you could have a suvival world like you said as they are ppular, then a create world!
