Welcome, my many viewers and fans. I am starting to get better at blogging and have been invited to 'The Writer's Society' and I am glad to join! But, today as many of you may or may not be eager to know, I have learned how to use a ps3 controller (I will include Xbox for those who have Xbox) and play Minecraft, in fact any game.

INTRODUCTION

Well, Minecraft. Minecraft, since its release has become bigger and bigger. So has its fan base, so when it was release onto IOS followed by Android it was a major thing. Then the news of it too coming to Xbox was another big hit. But unfortunately playstation has missed out, mainly due to two facts, one being that they are not directly related to the platform/console that Minecraft is on and two being the time they were hacked, Mojang does not want to put their customers at risk of that again even though it is very unlikely to occur again.

Ps3 Instructions

Ps3 has not been the most compatible with Windows software, but thanks to a little bit of research and testing I got this set up and working.

Now, first things first. There are two pieces of software which will need to be installed. The first being 'Motionjoy' and then second being 'Xpadder' which unfortunately costs $10 (although I am sure over half of you will know another way to get it), but this allows you to play every single pc game with your PS3. Now, once you have downloaded and bought both pieces of software you need to follow my instructions.

  1. Plug in your PS3 Remoteplaystationcontrollerjpg
  2. Open the program 'MotionJoy' (it will most likely be called DS3 Tool) and from there you should see this interface:

3. Here is where you shall go into the tab called 'Driver Manager'.
capturerjhpngHere there should be a new interface, it should look something sort of like this:
captureaiupng

Notice the line of text saying: 'Port_#0003.Hub_#0002'. Well select the tick box and then press the 'load driver' button below the tick box which you just ticked.

Now, there is a big text box that comes up, it should look like this when done:

captureuzepng

Now, go back to the 'Profiles' page and select 'Playstation 2 (POV,joysticks)' and then hit 'Enable'

4. This is to make sure your device is working. If you are already definite it is working skip this step, but I suggest doing it anyway.

Find the button 'Game Controller Panel' it will come up with a new window which looks like this:

capturegqbpng

Click on properties and then test everything to make sure it works. If it doesn't, try going to calibrate on the properties window and then follow the steps. If this all goes according to plan you can now use your remote, but you are going to need to layout your controls, you may or may not be able to do that via 'MotionJoy' but you should, but 'Xpadder' is a lot better and easier for this.

5. Now, you have to open 'Xpadder', it should then look something like this:

captureqPNG

(NOTE: It contains my Ps3 key layout)

Here is where you are going to need to download a .zip off me which will contain the control layout and keys. So you can download it here. Open them in their respective slots and if you need to change them you may, just don't redistribute and claim as your own.

That is basically it. Now, open Minecraft and that is done!

Xbox360 Instructions

Well, as many of you know the xbox gamepad is architecturally built to work with both Windows and xbox, so a lot of games will work with the controller automatically, but not all. So here is how to set it up and also it should work at the general mouse for browsing too.

Unfortunately this will not be as detailed as I do not have an Xbox nor am Xbox controller. This is mainly taken and expanded from a website, if you want, you can find the site here.

  1. Firstly, you are going to need to download two different programs, one being ControlMK and the other is the Controller Profile.
  2. Plug in your remote via the usb cord (either the charging one or the cord if it is a wired controller)

3. Open up the ControlMK and then it should come up with something which looks something like this:

captureafwpng

4. Here, we are going to find our remote on the 'Controllers Found' dropdown menu. (This too should work for ps3 remotes but you still will require MotionJoy) then click the 'Add' button. This moves it to an option as your active controller. So, now select it as your Active Remote.

5. Now, get the profile and add it by clicking the little arrow button next to the profiles which will select your controls. It can be found like this:

capturembspng

Now, with this done, a profile of 'Minecraft' should appear. With this you are to select it, this makes it your profile and control layout.

6. Open Minecraft (it now should work).

For a final note, those on Mac and linux, there is likely to be certain ways in which you can do this natively on your system, but if there is not then you should try using Wine(skin) to run Windows programs on the system, which is what I have on my Linux build.

Thank you to 'The Writer's Society' for inviting me with my fantastic works and hope they are proud of me working for them. I would especially like to thank Linkin1503 for invitng me!

Thank you for reading, hope this has helped! Don't forget to diamond, favourite and subscribe for more if you liked this! Hope you enjoyed and found this helpful,

Unfortunately so, there may be other ways, but I am not sure, you could probably use DS3 tool and select "360 emulator" and then use the Xbox 360 way, it could work.

Is it just me... or are the instructions incomplete? For me, it ends on the Motioninjoy picture and nothing else.

That is nearly impossible as it would require too many buttons which are lacking on Wii, on WiiU it probably is possible but I have no idea, and not too many people want to use WiiU remotes or game controllers to play on the pc.
