Hey it's Rusty! Here on a very important topic that is kind of stupid :L
But hey I know some people are weird and actually think the things this blog is telling you NOT to do... Ok, lets do this! We are talking about something people confuse all the time.
It's called, subscribing. Now the subscriptions alone are fine, it is only the number that makes it dumb
Let's start off with a basic example, shall we?
What is a subscriber:
Let me just say it to all of you low level people who think subscribers will get you fame, This is not true!
A subscriber, is someone who likes your work, and wish's to see more, but doesn't want to check your profile every day to check for new content you made. Now, gather around children, it's time for a definition...
(BUT I'M ALLERGIC TO DICTIONARIES!!!)

a person, company, etc., that subscribes, as to a publication or concert series.The word subscriber was first used in the 1600's, and became more popular in usage.
Subscriber was used to define someone who had 'subscribed' to a house, paying for it every month or so (in a nutshell, renting). After sometime, I believe it was used to define someone who 'subscribed' to a certain thing. for example, if your 'subscribed' to a newspaper, you will get the newest copy every day/week when it comes out.
Now that we got a definition, we can go on to the reasoning why subscribers are so overrated
Subscribers and fame:

I stated before, subscribers do not equal fame, they only equal fans. The number of subscribers will not affect how good your work is, it will only affect how many people actually see it and like it. Don't be confused! Just because people don't see your work, and you get low diamond, doesn't mean your work is crap. The emphesis and importance that today's community put's on subscribers can discourage low levelers who have awesome work, but no subscribers. The next example will be an
unrecognized .VS. a recognized.
PMC New user posts: Big huge mansion! Worked very hard
desc.: I worked really hard maybe a month, please remember to diamond, fav, and sub!

Some views but no diamonds, maybe 1 or 2...
PMC popular user posts: Small modern house! Easy as pie
desc.: Took a bit, but I am done this just for all of you, my subscribers lav ya don't leave me!

tons of diamonds, even more views, and a whole tribe of new subscribers
New user gets discouraged and leaves
How would you feel if this was you? Would you liked it if you worked on something real hard, and then something of less or the exact same quality comes along and blows your post out of the water? No, you'd hate it. So don't judge based on Sub's, however in the same way don't get all 'I suck' just because you have little sub's or diamonds.

Well,
the real meaning of subscribing is having all the latest information
from someone. And subscribing is just a little add-on. Having more
subscribers doesn't make a person better, it just makes them be in the
spotlight more often. And that's where people misunderstand it.
Nice, do you think some people over-exaggerate subscribing?
Some?
Hell, MANY. As I said, having more subscribers than someone doesn't
make that person better, it just makes them being in the spotlight more.

To
all those who are thinking that they are better people just because
they have more subscribers than other people, you need to look back.
Because even though many people don't have as many subscribers as you,
they work as hard as you every single day, and hell, they might be
working harder than you while you being all happy hugging the spotlight
so much that you forgot to respect everyone under the ranks of you.

Whats your opinion on the matter of... Subscribing?
Subscribing is whatever you want it to be. Whether you sub to
everyone you like or limit it greatly, good for you. It isn't something
you have to be forced into.
Cool. Why do you think people might take the 'subscription system' the wrong way (or the right)?
By attempting to define it and trying to force others to use it that
way. It can be used to show support, friendship, genuine love and
excitement to see someone's content, or whatever you wish. All it does
is show you the content of people you're subbed to on your home page,
and show them they have an additional sub. Recently I've noticed a lot
of people talking about "true" subscribers and the like, how people need
to do specific things if they subbed, always be dedicated subscribers,
etc.

On something CB said, I have something to add to that. When people post
things like "Oh, if you sub me you should view all my things and blah
blah blah something something OBLIGATION""
No.
If I sub you, I can do whatever the heck I want with my time. JUST BECAUSE I clicked that fancy subscribe button, even if, as we disscussed, that the sub means you want to tune in on others work, doesn't mean we HAVE to view your every single post, sure we may want to, we may just think your work is good and therefore find you promising, but come on people, cut your fellow humans a break! No one has any obligations, this is the internet.
Sure,
Joe can subscribe to his local newpaper, but that doesn't obligate him to read it, he could use it for his dog to potty train on! He could use it as a clever disquise, ok were going off topic.... THE POINT IS, can everyone stop making post's like that, because it's not true, subs are not of the utmost importance, and you don't have to freak out when you excepted your how-many subs to each diamond your post and they didn't, because when you expect things you get upset and CRY., and I'll have to wipe you and your subs tears up.
With that, I bid you all good fortune, and I hope this blog helped you understand subscribers better.
And I hope it will help some people not care so much about the number of subs more the amount of effort and quailty in a piece of work

Pros
1. You have a less likely chance of it being stolen.
2. You draw less attention, if you draw less attention, your less likely to get haters.
Cons
1. Lower chance of getting critism, sometimes where you have to figure out how to improve on your own.
2. If someone does steal it, its possible that will become more popular then the original, no one reports it because they assume its original because they don't know your post, and its a pain to notice its stolen.
3. Less leveling chances unless you post a drillion things.
Popular Content
Pros
1. More levels.
2. More critism
3. Usually more people will spot something was stolen from you and report it.
Cons
1. People have a higher chance of stealing it to gain "Fame and Fortune"
2. Most likely chance of getting hate.
So yeah... If you have unknown content, be happy with it. However, I never said subs meant anything. Even if someone wasn't your sub, they could report things because they knew it was stolen. So yeaah.. I pretty much agree with this blog. Is it bad I feel like I just write an entire blog restating what the blog above said only in different words? I do this too much.
TL;DR? Long story short, be happy what you got.
