Hello! Welcome to my interview with probably the person who has inspired me most; Aethera!
My questions will be in white, her answers will be in Magenta
1. What's your favorite music disc?
It's a three-way tie between Cat, Far, and Strad. Before it was removed from the game, though, my very favorite was the second "half" of Cat, which was called Dog. cx It was such a sweet, purely happy tune that always made me feel like dancing.
2. As I'm sure everyone knows, you're very talented at skinning and many other things! Was there a time you just felt like giving up? What was the result?
Unfortunately, I've felt like giving up quite a few times in the past. I've actually stopped making skins for several months, but for some reason, I always found myself missing the community and missing putting pixels together, heh. Sometimes I have felt extremely burned out, particularly in the last two years due to a lot of real-life factors. While taking a break did help me recover my inspiration and motivation, it did make returning to the community difficult.
3. What was the inspiration behind your name?
Heh.. cx Laura Brehm is my favorite music artist, and she was involved in 2/3 of the Valkyrie Trilogy, a three-part "series" of songs released by Varien. Those songs as well as Laura herself have been very inspirational to me in healing from some things in my past and discovering who I want to be for the future. Unfortunately, on all of my social media platforms, the name Valkyrie and other semblances of it were already taken. I was hoping for a way to make my username more unique and elegant, so I settled on Valkyrien, and it's just stuck. :)
4. If a random person walked up to you and asked how your day was going what would you say?
I think I would say that my day is going alright, but honestly, if that happened, I think I would either be very touched or very weirded out by their actions.
5. Fondest memory of Planet Minecraft?
My fondest memory of PMC is when I met Prince Oceanus, who (years later, heh) is now my fiancé. :) He DMed me and asked if I might consider making some Minecraft skins to complement his private universe and his OCs. Although I declined at the time, it led to a conversation about our respective stories, and it turned out that we had a lot of things in common. Eventually that turned into a daily conversation that morphed into a strong friendship. :) I am very grateful to Planet Minecraft for those experiences.
6. If you had one day all to yourself, but you couldn't use electronics, what would you do?
I would draw and practice singing! Those are my two favorite "non-electronic" hobbies. :) I would likely work on some anatomy/proportion studies, and then relax afterward by practicing a few songs I'm working on learning and/or writing.
7. What's your dream job?
I have several "dream jobs", so if we're talking realistically, it would be to be a barista at Starbucks. I love their coffee, their atmosphere, and the experiences I've had there have been overwhelmingly excellent. But, if we're talking a literal dream job, then I would have to say being a skilled digital artist.
8. If you could pick one myth to come true, what would it be?
Oh, my, this is a very unique question! :) I think I would have to say the myth of the Valkyries, because I have always loved that part of mythology and they/more modern representations have been very inspirational to me throughout my life.
9. How would you describe yourself?
This is a hard one, heh. Sticking to three words here, I'd say introverted, daydreamer, and musical.
10. If you could tell everyone reading this one thing, what would it be?
I think it would be that I think you are a wonderful person with so much potential, regardless of how you are feeling about yourself at the moment. I know that one day, everything in your life will come together, even if you don't see it right now. It might not happen until years later, but that day when everything aligns is worth waiting for. I care about you and I'm so happy that you exist, and trust me, I'm not the only one.
