MineIdeas: My Wishlist

Hello, my friends. This my first article/blog and my first contest entry. Here I will showcase my ideas that hopefully will be implemented into Minecraft. Lets start with mobs, shall we?

Fish - As we all know, we can catch fish, but I want to visibly see it in the water. This would add more life and importance to rivers, lakes and oceans that only hold squids.

Sharks - This gives more importance to water. Sharks can break boats and attack players. If you kill a shark, they drap raw fish and a sharp tooth. A Sharp tooth can be used to make daggers or it can be used to make a new potion.

Bandit - You can find this mob in random generated camps throughout the Minecraft world. They can hold and wear and weapon or armor depending on the difficulty. They have a chance of dropping swords, gold nuggets, and maps.

SaberTooth - These dangerous cats only roam snow biomes, Highland and mountain biomes. They are quick and silent. They drop a sharp teeth and leather.

Frozen Colossus - These are found by Ender Eyes. These are bosses that can only be activated by a nether star mixed with 8 blaze rods. This would create an item called: Flame Element. The Colossus can freeze the player for 2 seconds, but the player can dodge that ability. It also can call sabertooths to help it. This would be the size of the unused mob, The giant. Frozen Colossuses should be unbelievably strong. Only found in snow biomes.

Up next, we have biomes/places

Volcanoes - A biome that has lava near it and is usually found either near a jungle biome or a desert biome. Gravel, dirt, stone, obsidian and lava is found here. Magma cubes and blazes spawn here.

Bandit Camp - Bandits are found here. Camps usually consist of wood, white wool, cobblestone and a blacksmith that comes with an anvil. Chests found in the camp contain slightly rare goods such as gold ingots and various weapons and armor. These camps get visited by the occasional Sabertooth which the bandits fight. Bandit camps can be found in any biome except volcano and swamp biomes.

Highlands - A biome which consists of many high mountains and waterfall drops. Emerald ores are found in these biomes and Sabertooths seem to like this enviroment.

Next, we have items.

Emerald Armor/Weapons - This gives greater use to emeralds which can only be used for paying villagers and making beacon pyramids right now. These are greater than iron weapons and armor but less than diamond weapons and armor. Can't wait to walk around green!

Daggers - It will need a tooth to be made. Depending on the material (ie: diamond, emerald, iron ingot) is put in with the tooth, that is how much damage it will do. These do less damage than swords, but they strike quicker. Enchantments it can carry: Poison, Sharpness, Fire, Smite, Looting.

Ball - These defy minecraft physics and can roll around only in Dirt or grass! These have no use except to play with them. Since these defy the laws of Mincraft, it will take 9 (yes I said 9) nether stars to make.

Now, we have enchantments!

Poison - This is a dagger only enchantment. If it is level I it will only work for 1 second and so on. For example, if it is level 4, the poison effect will work for 4 seconds.

DeadEye - This is a bow only enchantment. Depending on the level, if the person gets a headshot on something, it does more damage than usual.

Quake - A sword only enchantment that makes the other players screen shake while in combat. Depending on the level, the more seconds it lasts on the player. If the enchantment is used on a mob, the mob will have a worse targeting system and it will go slower. The higher the level, the better the effect on the mobs.

Null - A armor only enchantment that decreases the effect of a harmful effect caused on the player. The higher the level, the more the harmful effect decreases.

New things now!

More Trees! - More trees would provide a better landscape in minecraft. Some suggestions are cherry blossom or willow trees.

Player Created Paintings - Once the player places a painting, the player has the option to make on or not. If not, it will show a random default picture.

A few suggestions that I support, but i do not support as strongly as the ones above : Rubies, Bronze items (copper), Enchantments that go further than level 4 or 5.

Please give your opinions in the comments below. Thank you! :D

This is awesome, i love the bandit idea and all the mob ideas, the only thing that i would disagree with would be the ball and the emerald items. The ball basically ruins the square theme of minecraft and the emerald armor is just meant to be a rare catch that some player can use later on. Other than that I think you should give this to mojang and lets see if any of your ideas would get picked in future updates

Fish is something, I heard often. Seems that people really want them. Not that I'm complaining, since I'm one of them too. Having livelier is certainly appealing. I'm not so sure about sharks, though, but I think the idea has potential. The same with bandits and saber tooth tigers (although I'd kinda like the former).

Volcanoes are something I'd really like and I actually hope that Mojang implements them some time. Bandit camps make the bandit mob certainly more appealing. But highlands sound too much like extreme hills with emerald and saber tooth tigers and more waterfalls.

Daggers seem pretty pointless to me. Swords aren't exactly slow, so I don't see the need for weapon that's faster, but weaker. Balls may be neat, but useless. Emerald equipment would be nice, but I doubt that I'd use it.

More trees and player-created paintings would be nice, but not very necessary. And since I barely use enchantments, I don't have much of an idea about them.

Overall, I think fish and volcanoes are the best ideas. I don't think there is anything bad here either. Maybe some ideas were used in mods (as mentioned in the comments), but I don't even know those (although I heard of them), so I can't compare.

Good Enough work but needs more creativity....Remember it has to be your own work

Like Dogz9221 Said "Some of these Ideas aren't very... bad. But others, you just ripped from Mods. Like, Seriously? Rubies and Bronze items and Copper?! That's Redpower and Industrialcraft. WE ALL KNOW THAT. Saber tooth tigers and Sharks? That's Mo' Creatures and Bandits are from Millenaire." Is very True. Rectify this problem and i think you could do ok.

But also better your layout as well make it look neat and presentable

For example: Dont use too many Different colours

Ok, thank you for the review. As noted, it is my first blog and contest entry so I do not intend to win, but I intend to learn from this.

I like most of your ideas, many of them should definitely be implemented into the game itself. A few of my problems in this are:
Emerald armor: I like the emerald being a form of currency, there has to be some material that acts solely as a trading mechanism. You wouldn't make armor out of dollar bills would you?
Ball: No, I enjoy my block world, you throw in these things you call spheres and you ruin it!
The enchantments: I enjoy new enchantments and i agree new ones should be added. But i'm not a fan of these enchantments you've suggested. It may just be personal opinion, but i just don't enjoy them.

Overall, you ideas are great, I hope many of these ideas are implemented into vanilla minecraft. Have a wonderful day,

Thanks for the review. As for emeralds, i can't stand emeralds just being emeralds. It has to be pu to better use in my opinion. :P. As for the ball, i thought of it as an end game prize kind of thing after you've basically done everything in MC. I have no comment on enchantments because everyone has an entitlement to their own opinion. Once again, Thank you!

With the exponential volumes of minecraft mods, there are bound to be duplicates of ideas. It's not stealing someones idea if you simply have a similar aspect in it. The multitude of ideas that are created by users causes a lot of overlapping in ideas. You see it in mods as well, many mods have similar aspects as other mods.
And even if this was an intentional rip, some things in mods should definitely be implemented into vanilla minecraft.

Honestly, I don't pay attention to mods. The only mods I have used is too many items, which is currently uninstalled right now. These ideas came from my mind without knowing they were in mods. Sorry if the things i have put in the article made a misconception.
