First of all, don't say it's not you're fault when you get griefed (Other than factions, that's different) I mean, unless the guys are hackers, you probably oped them. So I have organized a quick 5 tips to help prevent you're server from getting griefed, I kind of just thought of this randomly while I was playing Quake Craft on Hypixels server, xD

My first tip would be, obviously, to get a good anti-griefing plugin, this is for players who are not op, they might still be able to grief, trust me, I know from experience... : I used to get griefed a lot xD Anyways, World guard is a pretty good plugin for this, it can define regions in which players can not build or destroy. World guard is also good because you can enable and disable certain commands, mobs, etc.

Second tip would be not to accept any plugin a player gives you on you're server without testing it out. I had a player come on once, ask me if I could install this plugin, I was like "OK!" I wasn't THAT stupid, I looked at the source code, and it did NOT do what he said, it just discarded the permissions plugin, so they could op themselves. Do not fall for that, normally these people are griefers.

Third, do not op people just because you're good friends with them. And don't be too nice, they will take advantage of that. But don't be too strict either. they will probably hate you for that : Just don't be ignorant of discipline.

Try to have staff on at all times, staff you can trust to. I think this is a very important part, because if you don't have log-block or anything, you usually have a witness. My server has gotten griefed twice by the same griefer, the guy always uses sponges for some reason, anyways, I think I am making him rage...Ungreifable spawn, I have a backup schematic XD

The last step is also very important. Get log-block or a similar plugin, that way if no one is online, you will still be able to see who griefed, ban them, and reverse the grief. This is very useful for Survival servers, not so much mini-game servers or anything, because those are just for playing...no one really has the urge to grief, but on survival, you actually ruin players houses and stuff, so I guess that's why griefers like griefing survival servers more than mini-game servers... lol

When you look in the forums, you read all the time about people requesting players to help them rebuild their spawn (after a griefer attack). Why do so many people not make back ups?
