Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything about the server, mostly just due to school things and general business. However, a lot's been done since update 7!
The sky city's coming along very well now. So far, I've got the second tower blueprint almost fully constructed. Two of those towers next to each other looks amazing, I can't wait to see 4 four of them. I also created the outline for the size of island the city's going to sit on top of. It's massive as well. The whole surface area of the sky city is a little over 200 by 200 blocks. making the actual square meter-age of the sky city 40,000sq m! Holy crap. Doing it pretty much by myself is a daunting task as well.
I also laid out the grid work for one quarter of the sky city. Currently I'm working on a restaurant which has two kitchens, and two areas for seating, an area on the second story, and a balcony on the third story. It's a pretty snazzy looking place if I do say so myself. I can't wait to see the whole sky city looking like the restaurant.
The theme I think I've decided on for the sky city is dark wood, white stone slabs, refined birch wood, fences, glass, glow stone, and occasionally some other block types for the main construction of the buildings. I'm probably going to try to leave more of the bricks on the towers, and not have them stick to the theme of the rest of the city so much just because it's a lot of work to build just one of those things, not to mention FOUR that need to be all decorated, textured and lit.
Jackson got quite a bit done since the last update. He's finishing up the underground labyrinth he's been working on for a few weeks now. He's also working on a small farming village which will be surrounded by farmland and open space. The village is right next to the arena/coliseum so the town looks exceptionally small.
Today, the most notable thing done was our detonation of the land beneath the sky city. So many cool caves and things are being unearthed and such a vast area of land is being given over to exposed rocks and lava, but it's all in the good name of aesthetics.
Well, that's about it I suppose. I want to say thank you to the few people who do read these posts. It means a lot to myself and Jackson that we're getting views even if it is from such a small number of people. We're still very glad people are noticing us a little.
