Based on Two True Stories:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Malcolm's eyes, she was - perfect! Kate Lynn was smart, funny, athletic, and kind - hearted...unlike everyone else, who looked down on Malcolm.  The day he met her, he knew that she was the most amazing person he had ever seen. Malcolm was astonished that se was so nice to everyone and that she would even talk to him, because most of the time Malcolm would be the bottom of the desk, - neglected and ignored. At the time, Malcolm was a pudgey shy twelve year old boy, who was bullied and rejected by his peers. Malcolm, unlike her, was not athletic and not the best looking guy around. However, he had always been shy and with that he had been polite and considerate of others, despite how others treated him and was very smart like Kate and ahead of his classes.

For the entire seventh grade, Malcolm was basically a recluse. He avoided conversation because he could never think of something to say. If he said something to somebody, it would be a small comment or a simple thank you. However, throughout the entire seventh grade he l scarcely talked to Kate, but never initiating the conversation, but always listening.

About three weeks until the end of the seventh grade, Malcolm noticed that Kate was alone walking back to her classroom at the end of the school day. He went up to her and confessed to her that he had feelings for her. They both stood there for a few moments - all she did was smile. Nothing else happened in the following moments, except for the soft footsteps on asphalt of them walking away from each other and the rising feeling of disappointment in Malcolm's chest.

Malcolm was puzzled. Malcolm would spend the entire Summer he was trying to figure out what that smile meant. Was it embarrassment? Was she flattered? Did she expect me to day something else or even ask her on a date? Malcolm waved the possibility of him asking her on a date away at the memory of her rejecting several people who have bullied Malcolm in the past. He recalled her saying to one of them she wanted to have a good life and to be a doctor.

The following days leading to the end of the school year, Kate had become more talkative to Malcolm, normally, however, discussing unrelated topics to Malcolm's confession. By the last few days, Kate had signed Malcolm's yearbook saying: "I'm glad I met you this year Malcolm, you are very smart, funny, and nice. I hope we have the same classes next year and good luck - Kate ♥".

On the last day of school, Malcolm handed her a small note. He told her it was her yearbook signing from him, since she did not get a yearbook that year. He wrote his phone number, and told her what he thought of her, about her being modest, kind, funny, smart, amazing, pretty much the most amazing person. He waited that summer, and nothing. No text, no call, nothing. He was heartbroken.

The seventh grade ended, and Malcolm was filled with gratitude that the taunting and countless instances of bullying would end. By the end of summer, his parents had opened a family gym membership. Malcolm took this opprotunity as an outlet, for all the stress, all the torment, and the flood of feelings he felt for Kate. Malcolm took a small MP3 player which had a clip on it for exercising to have his favorite songs help motivate him. Malcolm then found his passion in exercising was running.

Eighth grade began and there she was, Kate had two classes with him, algebra and science. He was a little disappointed she was not in his P.E. class but he was grateful he had classes at all with her.  The following month, however, his P.E. class had a transfer, and to his surprise it was Kate. Malcolm convinced himself it was a coincidence or maybe she had transfered to be with three close friends. Malcolm now felt maybe she did feel something for him.

Through the eighth grade, Malcolm began running using it as an outlet during school and after school. He ran and ran. Malcolm thought about his life, he thought about how people use to treat him, however, he did think about Kate. He felt the need for self-improvement in his life, to be a better person and to make sure no matter what he always stays kind and considerate towards other no matter how others treat him. And he did. To his previous tormenters - he treated nicely, to strangers - he greeted, to loved ones - he loved. Malcolm was finding happiness.

Kate had begun talking to Malcolm more in mathematics and P.E., they had actually started to become good friends. One day, Malcolm and Kate were talking after P.E. and he declared "gg" after a game of basketball. She had no idea what that meant, which struck Malcolm like a rugby ball to the head. (Apparently she wasn't much of a gamer) He told her the meaning of it simply meaning: good game.

Ever since eighth grade had started Kate had stopped running as she did the previous year as a trac star with great effort. Malcolm had joined track in order to get closer to her and use his excess running to an advantage. However, she never joined as she did the previous year. The next day after Malcolm had explained "gg", their teacher had announced they would be doing
the Mile. Malcolm was the only one who tried on miles, everyone else walked. Their teacher allowed them to listen to music while doing it so he decided to hook up his MP3 and earbuds. Their teacher announced them to go and Malcolm set off breezing through the first two laps. However, while running he passed Kate's friends who were walking and noticed she was not with them which puzzled him. When finishing up his second lap he noticed somebody increasing speed behind him - it was Kate. "Seriously?", Malcolm grinned, as so did Kate in response. For the next two laps they were closely running side by side, with Kate prevailing in the final fifty meters. Once realizing she had won, Kate turned around and spoke a single word: "gg". All Malcolm could do was smile.

The eighth grade began to come to a close. Track ended, however, he continued running. His classes began to finish up one by one. Yearbooks were released and Kate had ordered one that year, however, she did not sign his yearbook. As the last school day began to conclude, Malcolm started to leave school disappointed. However, he heard a rustle behind him and turned to see Kate running up to him. She handed him a note just as he did the previous year. She signed his yearbook, nevertheless, and Kate signed his. As she left, she planted a small kiss on Malcolm's cheek, leaving Malcolm stunned as she walked briskfully away.

As Kate walked away, Malcolm saw the corner of her cheek perk up. She gave a small peek back, and there it was. The wide gentle smile she had given him the previous year. Suddenly, his chest flurished and he felt the same smile arise, returning her friendly gaze with a warm, welcoming smile. She turned around, still smiling, and walked on.

Malcolm, peeked into the note and saw there was her phone number with all his good qualities described towards him. signed " - Love Kate".

They texted during the Summer and they met up sometimes and hung out with a few of their friends. Overtime it  had become apparent to both of them that they both knew were going to become more than friends.

Freshman year started the following school year, and Malcolm finally cooked up the courage to ask Kate on a date. He felt it would be perfect to ask her to Home Coming. Malcolm went out with his friend and they bought a teddy bear to give to her in which they will print the words: "Home Coming?". Malcolm and his friend both laughed knowing she'd find the bear hysterical because he tried so hard for something she would've said yes to in a heart-beat.

The following day,  Malcolm arrived at his first class only to find Kate was not there. He thought this was really odd. By lunch it appeared she was not at school at all, and maybe she was sick but he had texted her just that morning and she didn't mention anything having to do with her being ill. At lunch a friend came to him saying upon arrival, "Malcolm, I'm going to say something very hard to comprehend. There has been an accident. Kate was in the passenger seat of a Honda SUV. The crash was fatal." The words struck Malcolm like a brick wall. He broke down right then and there, leaving abruptly, picking up his lunch tray and smashing it against the table. All eyes turned to him, silence filled the air, as everyone saw Malcolm storm out close to tears.

Malcolm left school, accepting truancy. he had gone home and turned on his local news network in which was undergoing a traffic report. The broadcast turned its attention to an accident at the end of the freeway causing a traffic jam. The news cast exclaimed the death of Kate Lynn and her mother in their family's SUV, when they were hit from the right side, flipping the car and killing both occupants inside.

Malcolm couldn't take it. He ran away. Just ran. He was found at his junior high track sobbing and mourning. He dreamed of a life with her and it was wisked away.

Malcolm became completely immobilized. He graduated high school. Malcolm decided not to pursue engineering. Instead, he chose to work some dead end job as a cashier at a local grocery store. He never married and he lived alone - he died alone.

When cleaning his apartment, his cousin who was his closest relative, found his computer. On it was his old Sims 3 game. Malcolm had created one family. Titled: The Lukes (Malcolm's last name). The family consisted of a mother named Kate, and a father named Malcolm. They had three beautiful children: Daniel, Rachael, and Leah. The family Malcolm never had.

In Malcolm's eyes, he was never alone. He saw Kate everyday. Lived the life he always wanted. And they grew old together.

For that was all Malcolm ever wanted.

Would it make you feel better if I told you about 80% of it actually happened. Seventh through eighth grade is all true, and then from the death to the discovery of Sims 3 is true.
