Hello, my name is Tuna, and i'm a tomcat. today i'll be telling you the story of how I caught my first mouse! I was so proud! One day my owners weren't home, so I decided to go for a walk. I passed the old red brick house Gorse lived in. "Hi!" he greeted, his dark brown fur long and knotted. "Hello!" I replied to the old plump tom. "Why are you out?" he said to me in a curious tone. "Beautiful day! Maybe i'll catch a mouse for once..." "Ha!" He interjected, "No one catches prey around here." He suddenly sounded snobbish and rude, Tuna was taken aback! Usually he was friendly. "Well, maybe today will be different good sir. Farewell." I padded away, and swore under my breath. Some cats! A few minutes later I ran into my best friend, Minty. She's a light brown and ginger queen with leafy green eyes, very kind. For a very long time I had had a crush on her, but had never confessed. "Hiya!" She said, jumping down from a garbage can she was sitting on. "Hello!" I replied to her greeting, my ginger pelt shining in the hot summer sun. "Nice to see your up and about! I never see you since your owners took you in... Why'd you listen to them and not stay a stray?" I shrugged. "Well, you get fed easier..." I felt awkward, to be honest I wish I wouldn't have left... "Well, bye!" I quickly said and ran away before she could answer. About 10 minutes later I realized I was lost. I had found myself in a dark, murky, rather unfriendly looking forest. "Oh no!" I said, I walked around for a while awkwardly. I found a hollow tree, just big enough for me to sleep in. I decided to stay calm and take a quick nap. Right when I was making my leafy nest, I heard a "Squeak!" barely loud enough to hear. I crouched. What if it was a mouse? I tensed, ready to pounce. I saw a big and plump woodmouse lurking in a bush. "3... 2... 1..." I counted in my head. I sharpened my eyes, and went for it! Everything was a flash. when I looked down, a small dead creature was hiding in my hands. "YES!" I said.I retreaded back to my nest, eat the mouse, and enjoyed a nap. Don't worry about me, I ended up finding my neighborhood. I decided to leave my owners behind, though, and me and Minty decided to share her barn Eventually I told her about my love for her, and she admitted she had loved me to, and we caugh mice and lived happily ever after together.
