A lot of people use Minecraft as a hobby, which may involve making skins, writing blogs or just simply playing the game. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with this at all there is need for change when this hobby begins to turn into and obsession.

Don't get me wrong guys, as I said before I have no problems with people that use Minecraft as one of their hobbies, it's defintely one of my own. Hobbies are healthy! they offer us the opportunity to learn new skills, relieve stress and channel our creative energy in a positive way.

Blogs like these allow people to exercise and hone their writing skill. Skins and other forms of art let people show off their artistic talent and express themselves, while building projects put a player's creativity and planning to good use.

As I mentioned before, Minecraft doesn't neccesarily have to be a platform for you to showcase and practice certain skills you may have, it can simply be a way for you to deal with stress. For me, there's nothing like sitting down at my desk after arduous week of school and preparing myself for a peaceful little Minecraft marathon - the ultimate stress reliever!

So as we've established so far, Minecraft is a great hobby to have! However, there comes a point where said hobby starts to evolve into somewhat of an unhealthy addiction.

What often tends to happen to people is a particular video game begins to take over our lives. For some of us it can be difficult to balance out gaming with education, social life (what are these?) and family. If you find that Minecraft (or any other video game for that matter) is having a negative impact on your grades or relationships then it's time to put your priorities in order.

Minecraft is a brilliant pastime in small doses! Try to considerably limit the time you spend on it during weekdays, ensuring that you're able to complete any work you may have to do for school. Allow yourself more time on the weekends but make sure to participate in activities with your friends and families as well.

So, what have we established in this blog? Minecraft as a hobby can be very positive for you and there are loads of reasons for it. However, if you start to become obsessed with the game (or content you create for it) it can be unhealthy for you and have a variety of negative effects. Moderate your time spent on Minecraft and prioritize more important things above it.
