I was on chat a few days ago and randomly a couple of people (who I will not mention) start asking if they can become Moderators because they have over one hundred submissions.

Short answer, no.

You cannot and will not become a Moderator based off of how many submissions you have, no matter what the number. Submissions are for FUN and you shouldn't create submissions just in hopes of becoming a Moderator which won't even work out in the long run. If you are a person who forces themselves to create a project, texture pack, skin or blog for that matter just because you have high hopes of becoming a Moderator, I suggest that you don't create submissions.

Creating any type of submissions shouldn't be forceful but instead fun. People who create skins love to do it, not because they make themselves do it for a higher level or once again, the hopes of becoming a Moderator.

This all reflects back to my How To Become A Moderator blog in a way that people just want power.

Even if you have over three hundred submissions uploaded, that doesn't increase any chance of becoming a Moderator. If you would like to know how to become one, click that blog above.

Anyways, I still don't fully understand why people want to be Moderators so bad that they FORCE themselves to do something they probably don't even like. It's just a rank. You should enjoy uploading for fun, if not then I really suggest you don't do it. Forcing yourself to do something is unhealthy and you never want to do it.

So please, if you ARE a person that forces themselves to do something in "hopes" of becoming a Moderator, don't waste your time. Find something you love doing, whether it be projects, texture packs etc. and just create and you DO earn profit by people downloading your submission and enjoying it.

I guarantee you that just knowing that people love your submissions will indeed get you a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside, which is way better than trying to become a rank you might not even possibly become. It's also not good to think that you will become that rank because you get giddy, only to be "turned down" by not becoming a Moderator.

Hope you enjoyed this semi-rant and I will be interested to see your responses. Thanks.

I enjoy making new skins. I rarely use skins made by others, but I will give them a +1 if I like them. I almost always use skins that I made. Mainly because I am proud and confident in the work I put in it. I don't upload a mass of skins in hope of winning higher levels, power, or even contests. I take my time when making skins. Most of my skins were uploaded in the same time period, because I made them all over time before I joined PMC, then uploaded them. But some people just create skins in bulk and upload them all at once.

I report anywhere from 2 - 10 things a day (that I'm online) and I am saddened when it takes several hours to be removed.

It makes me happy when I see a skin I made was downloaded by someone. That means that even just one person is enjoying a skin I made :3

Or they just felt sorry for me and downloaded it anyway :|

Your blogs are always so great to read, and I agree with you 100%: people should upload for fun, and not for a rank. And like you said, it doesn't even help you become a moderator. I don't know how many times I've been on chat having a perfectly nice conversation and people drop everything when a mod comes on to start spamming with, "Can I be mod???" It's very annoying.

Long response / xD

<-- Total number of submissions this guy has: 2

If Mods were chosen based off submissions alone, it'd take me years till I could get there. xD

I've seen people with around 200 submissions (usually skins) and they think they're better than everyone else -_-

Depends on the quality. Some people do have the "right" to gloat, as long as what they made was original and amazing.
Others just have no room to speak.
