New to a server? I bet a staff member welcomed you in. Maybe you saw that they have a statue. A lot of servers do that. Many people want to become staff on their favourite server. But there is downsides to being a staff member. Being an experiened admin on the server Coroburn, I know what it feels like to become staff. It's a good feeling... until you find out the work put into it. Let me give you some examples and maybe you might rethink wanting to become staff.

Griefs. This is one of the most annoying moments on staff. Once somebody finds the grief, you will have to check it. On Coroburn, there is a plugin, CoreProtect, (which I am pretty good at using) in which you can use the command, /co inspect. This command checks the grief. But what if you don't have this plugin? You might ban the wrong person. Never good.

Impressions. This is a hard thing to do. I originally wanted to make the best impressions I could make, and I did, since I got promoted from Mod to Admin within a month. But sometimes it is hard. If you have a bad first impression, you might get demoted. Once you think about that... you might not want to become staff. The amount of stress is sometimes overwhelming when you are trying to impress higher ranks.

Demotions. Sometimes you have the idea to demote, and when the player demoted finds out, its not good. I once had the idea to demote a higher rank than me because he wasnt doing his job. First i made it seem like i didnt care, but he continued to argue against us, so i really got into it, and eventually, he got banned for 10 years by the owner. (LONG story) He was let back on and now has a different rank, but at the time, I was stressed. Extremly stressed. It isnt exactly fun to demote either. It gives you a bad taste in your mouth, metaphoricly of course.

Rule breakers when your alone. This is the worst. Say your on alone, and a new player joins. Now he starts spamming it up with Nodus, and starts to grief everything. If your a mod, you might not know what to do. What if he is the owner and he created another account? This could be a question asked. For me, being as experienced as I am, I would quickly ban him. But what if he is asking for creative, and your not experienced? You might ban him, later to be told that you werent supposed to. Then, you could be demoted.

Staff isn't what it seems. It requires lots of respect and maturity. No one likes a staff that acts like they are 8. They will just be demoted. Stress isn't good, especially when your trying to balance life and minecraft. The stress could be doubled. Now re-think it: Do you really want to be staff?
