I’ve never been scared of the dark, rather I’ve been scared of what it hides. Twice a day my ears are flooded with the howling of steam escaping a cold, metal body; the shrieking cry of the dream train. Less of a dream than my worst nightmares, if not for the fact that before that night I had never been a passenger.

Word of mouth spreads fear from one soul to another, whether the fear is justified or not depends on the person. They say the eyes watch you, those who got off at the wrong station to never be seen again, or st least mostly unseen; the husks of the eyeless passengers are said to speak aboard in an attempt to regain their sight. I was forewarned to avoid any individual on the train who hid their face, unless I intended to loose my eyes as they did.

It was 10pm when I got back, studying drained my energy but after the sight of the small metallic slip on my windowsill, I knew sleep was out of the question. I have little idea where the ticket came from, let alone why it came to me. Rumours and legends aside I came to the only sane conclusion I had left; if the dream train stopped at the seventh floor, i would not be the fool to disobey.

Story part over, here's a little explanation. My writing style is inspired by HP Lovecraft, so sorry for whoever has to write after me but its how I write best xD
