Hello! CuteMurphy here bringing you another blog. This time...it's about the Pop Reel!
If you know why people want to be on it, then you're awesome! (I'm sure you all do) but just in case on of my little reds don't know (Decided to call me readers reds! Hope you guys don't mind) here is a short list of why people would want to be on it
  1. It is supposedly a sign of being popular. Yup...you heard me...some people want to get on the pop reel because they think it makes them popular :O
  2. It helps get them more views. It does. Because if your submission pops up when they click on blogs/skins/texturepacks/mods/projects/servers then they will probably click on it.
  3. It is a sign of getting your goal. Getting on the pop reel is a lot of people's goal here. So...if they do get on the pop reel then.......they reach their goal!


So yeah...enough reasons? Good! Anyway...but I'm here to say that it doesn't matter. That's right. It doesn't matter. Trust me....about 5 or 6 of my blogs have gotten on the pop reel. The first like 3 times it's great! You feel so happy and you just want to boggy down (....well, or something else you do when you're happy....) But...then after awhile you are just like..."Oh...look, I got on the pop reel again...."
So....my point is.....it doesn't matter! So...feel confident even if you don't get on the pop reel. I hope you liked this blog. I hope it might have helped. But yeah....that's about it!

its of course perfectly true that, in general, it takes quite some effort to get onto pop reel. however, there's also lucky people ( I will not use the common phrase here) that get onto pop reel without doing anything. example: here. this guy has less of everything that could possibly be considered for getting onto pop reel. combared with my own contest entry (not to mention the actually brilliant ones), I would frankly say its ugly. and its not even 20%. there is no way of telling what it will look like when done.

You get on the pop reel from diamonds and views. It isn't just "luck" and if you think that then you obviously haven't been on PMC long. He advertised his build quite a bit in chat and so people (of course) thought it was cool and diamonded it.

Apart from that poor fellow it takes
1. subscribers
2. popularity
3. advertising (if you're not popular)
4. Effort
to get on the pop reel

- Subscribers because if you are subscribed to someone you see their work on your subscription activity
- Popularity because if you are popular a lot of people see it
- Advertising because if you aren't popular then a lot of people won't click it so you have to advertise
- Effort because in order to get diamonds the person has to like it and it takes effort to make something that someone/lots of people will like

So, no, it is not to. Definitely not perfectly true that you are just "lucky" when you get on the pop reel. If you would like me to go on then I will

Let's keep going for a while. It is true that I haven't got much experience with advertising. but he has (significantly) less subscribers, and the building is not the sort that has taken a lot of effort (I could make something like that in less than 1 hour). that means he must be extremely popular. at least your explanation if the most exact and the most elaborate. I might understand it now. but then again, i shouldn't worry too much about this anymore. I have, as a result, decided to focus on gaining popularity first, before I bother making another big build.
