A new story blog by me is out! I think it's well written, but your opinion matters more than mine, so please leave a diamond if you enjoy!

Whitehelm was one of the farthest northern settlements in the overworld. It wasn’t large, but that’s to be expected when the average temperature is almost cold enough to freeze fire, and snow isn’t just there, it’s a way of life. Seasons made no difference to the temperature, which was never anything but cold, and during the winter, many months passed with no sun to be seen. The town was so secluded that the only traders who ever came were the ones who had been born in the far north, for they were used to the cold.

One resident of Whitehelm was a man named Svein. Svein was a fisherman, which meant that every other day, he would go out on the icy river, break a hole in the ice, and hopefully catch a fish or two. Then he would eat some and sell the rest.

A few years before, Svein had fought in the Enderman war, and had later been exiled for a crime he didn’t commit. After the war was over, someone had tried to assassinate Prince Thoris of Osokkos. Thankfully, the attempt had failed, but Svein had been framed by Eron, Prince Thoris’ chief advisor. The prince had been asleep when the attempt had been made, so he couldn’t know who had shot at him, but even he had to agree that the evidence Eron presented pointed to Svein.

The reason Svein had been framed was that he’d known the chief advisor was not who he appeared to be. Svein had seen him summon a vex, a ghost Illager brought back back from the dead, which could only mean that he was an evoker, one of Herobrine’s elite servants. Herobrine had granted them terrible powers in exchange for eternal servitude. Even though Herobrine had been imprisoned in the void since the end of the Enderman war, he could still speak to those most loyal to him. This combination of supernatural powers and guidance from a Titan like Herobrine made Eron one of the most dangerous people alive. Svein was sure that he could find enough evidence imprison Eron and clear his name. To collect evidence, Svein would need to visit Osokkos.

Two weeks later, A trader came to town. His name was Gregor, and he was a close friend of Svein’s. Gregor’s llamas had unloaded their cargo of merchandise in Whitehelm, so Gregor agreed to let Svein ride a llama and accompany him to Osokkos. They both realized that Svein would need a disguise since he was under exile, so while they travelled to Osokkos, the pair invented a false identity for Svein.

At the enormous gate to the city, the two travellers were stopped by a guard. “State your name and business.” said the middle aged guard in a monotone voice. Gregor spoke up:

“I am trader Gregor, and this is my friend Johann. I have come to trade, and Johann has come to visit a relative.”

“Very well, move along.” said the guard, after writing their names down in a thick ledger.

The city of Osokkos was many times larger than Whitehelm, and was populated by many, many more people. Citizens, soldiers, traders, and iron golems walked the streets as Gregor led his llamas toward the lone lantern inn. At the inn, the travellers parted ways. Gregor left Svein to do some trading, but not before selling him some invisibility potions, which he would need to prove Eron’s guilt. No doubt the chief advisor had hidden dark magical items, any one of which could prove his guilt. Svein had decided. He would perform a stakeout.

While the Eron was working, Svein took his position outside of the chief advisor’s room. When Eron arrived, Svein walked around a corner, sipped his invisibility potion, and doubled back.

The inside of Eron’s room was not at all incriminating, but Svein knew this was merely an act. He was proven correct when the chief advisor pressed a hidden button on the wall and a secret compartment opened, revealing a small stone bowl filled with a reflective liquid. Eron removed the bowl, set it on his table, and said to it: “Show me my master.” The bowl was a scrying dish, an ancient form of magical communication. In response, a deep voice resonated from the bowl.

“What news do you bring me?” The chief advisor replied:

“My lord, I must inform you that the pillager Invasion force is nearly ready to attack Osokkos. We have the element of surprise on our side. As long as the warriors remain unaware, our victory is assured.”

Svein realized that he had to do something. Osokkos was going to be attacked. H dashed to the door, flung it open, and sped to Steve’s house. When Eron saw the door swing open, he knew his report had been heard, but he didn’t know who had heard it.

As soon as Svein got to Steve’s house, he began to hammer on the door. Steve answered, and saw no one. Svein was still invisible. Svein slipped into Steve’s house and drank a bucket of milk.

“What are you doing here?” Steve hissed, “You’re a wanted man!”

“That doesn’t matter now, I have news!” replied Svein frantically. “Osokkos is going to be attacked!”

“Slow down, who’s attacking us?” Steve asked.

“Herobrine has control over the pillager clans, and they’re going to mount a large scale raid on this city!” Responded Svein.

“Herobrine’s back?!” Steve gasped, “That’s impossible! Notch locked him in the void!”

“He’s not back, but he’s directing the clans with a puppet.” Svein clarified.

“Who is this puppet?” asked Steve.

“You won’t believe me, but I have proof.” Svein said. “It’s Eron, the chief advisor.”

“I believe you.” Steve said, “It all makes sense. Puppets are always placed in positions of power, and it explains a lot of other things, like his frequent disappearances, and how the iron golems seem to become restless around him. They know there’s a threat nearby, but they don’t recognise that he’s the threat.”

“We need to tell someone, the soldiers, or Notch’s other warriors!” Svein said.

“The soldiers will find out soon enough.” Steve said, “They wouldn’t believe us anyway. And you’re forgetting that I’m the only one of Notch’s warriors who lives in Osokkos. The others would never get here in time unless…”

Steve whistled, and a dark blue parrot flew out of an open door and onto his shoulder. Steve said to the parrot:

“Find Green. Tell him that Osokkos is under attack.”

Steve fed the parrot a handful of seeds and opened his front door. The bird flew away.

“There,” Steve said. “Now we’ll have some reinforcements.”
