On the first of October, IGE, Si, and Storm arrived on Shiver Island for their one-month stay at Shiver Mansion. The trio then spent yesterday exploring the mansion, mainly the library. Today, not much is on their agenda... for now.
Si, bored, decides to ignore Mr. Shiver's suggestion of staying away from the woods and take a walk through the dark forest. Not far into it, he comes across a small wooden shack. Ever curious, the gravedigger opens the door and finds numerous gardening tools within. "I wonder why this is in the woods instead of the near the house and farm." he says to himself. As he looks at all the tools on the wall, he spots a splotch of green goop in the center of it. "Ew. What the carp is that?" He steps out and closes the door, running back to the mansion to tell the others about it.
When he walks in, he finds IGEBM on the couch in the foyer/living room, playing his alto saxophone. On the coffee table in front of him is sheet music for Avantasia's "The Scarecrow." "That's a cool intro." Si comments as his friend plays the notes. IGE puts the saxophone on his lap. "Thanks." he says. "You're back from your walk early." "Yeah, I wanted to show you guys something." Si explains. "Where's Storm?" "Library." IGE responds. He begins to take apart his instrument and put his hoodie on while Si goes upstairs to get Storm.
They meet outside the house. "What happened?" Storm asks. "Well, I was walking through the woods when I came across a shack storing some gardening tools." Si begins. "Then, I looked inside and saw some green goop on the wall. Follow me." He leads them through the woods to the shack and opens the door. "It looks more turquoise then green." IGE comments. Storm chuckles. "So, what do y'all think it is?" Si asks. "Maybe slime?" Storm suggests. "We'd need to examine it further though." "I can run back and get some test tubes and gloves from the closet." IGE says. "They have those?" Storm asks. "Yep." IGE answers, before running back to the house.
He returns several minutes later wearing a pair of gloves and goggles, with two more pairs of them in his hands, as well as three test tubes and small spoons to scoop the goop off of the wall. "Take these." he says, tossing the pairs of gloves and goggles to Si and Storm. While they put them on, he enters the shack and begins to scoop some of the goop off of the wall and into a test tube. He gives Si and Storm each tubes, and they do the same. The trio then put the lids on the tubes and walk back to the mansion.
In the science lab, IGE pours a small amount of the goop onto a slide, which he then puts under a microscope. "Storm, how's the examination of goop's molecular structure going?" he asks as he looks at the slide through the microscope. "So far, the only identifiable things in it are protoplasm and cytoplasm." Storm responds. Si, whose test tube-full of goop is being saved as a back-up, walks over to IGE's table and watches him examine the goop. "I see the same thing you're seeing." IGE says as he zooms in. "There's something off about this stuff." Suddenly, he hears a beeping sound and smells smoke. He looks up from the microscope and turns around to see smoke coming out of the scanning machine Storm is using. "How did that happen?" Si asks, saying the same thing IGE was about to say. "I don't know!" Storm answers. "The smoke just started coming out of it, and I don't think anything's wrong with the machinery." "Something's up with this goop." Si says. "Ever since I came across the shack, I've been feeling some sort of presence near me... Something ghostly." "Maybe we should visit the library." IGE says. "But first, let's get rid of this goop. If there's something paranormal going on with it, I think it's best that we dispose of it."

and also, as for object and feeling descriptions, still working on that
in terms of the house description, these are written like chapters of a book, with the assumption that people have read the previous chapters (including the one before this, where the mansion is described in better detail), as well as the assumption that these will one day be revised for collection into a single blog where you can read them all in the same place, in the correct order (I plan to do that at some point, probably next year)
