The Story I have written today is a sad one. Everyone's heard the shitty story about Herobrine and how it was Notch's brother who died but the story I present before you is entirely different. This is a fictional story about Notch's life before minecraft and what brought him to making it in the first place. I hope everyone who reads this will enjoy it as much I did writing it!

This story takesnplace in a small town in Sweden about a man named Markus. From an early age Markusnalways enjoyed computers. At about age eight he was already creating his verynfirst video games. As years went by Markus advanced in his skills ofnprogramming and designing, but thato s not what this story is about. To changenon a quick note when he was nineteen he met the love of his life Julia. Togethernthey were so happy. Markus carried out his daily duties, and she would wait fornhim and when they were with one another all was right. The two of them datednfor many years without a care in the world. In early 1999 Julia became pregnantnwith his first son. For the first time in his life he felt somewhat uncertain;nhe wasno t sure if he was ready for this. Nine months past and the day finallyncame. The birth took sixteen hours. Julia suffered a heart attack and diedngiving birth. Markus fell into depression. His son, Steven, was all he had left.nHe promised to always be there for Steven and to never let anything bad evernhappen to him. Devoted to his new born son he started his own programmingncompany from home with his best friend Jens. Over the years Markus loved andncared for his son more than imaginable. Everynnight before Steven would go to bed he would make up a new story about a whalenthat saves the city of Atlantis from all sorts of different troubles. Stevenncalled him The Brine Hero. During the day time Markus would work on off takingntime to spend with Steven. In 2004 a very large branch fell from a tree ontonhis house from his backyard. Over the months the spot the branch had fallennfrom had turned into a large notch on the tree making it look like somethingnlarge was missing from the tree. Steven seemed to think the notch on the treenwas representation of life. Even though a large portion is now gone the treencontinues to grow. This was something very deep for a three year old tonunderstand but Markus knew his son was correct. For Steveno s fifth birthday henbought him a very large Lego set. Steven would play with his Legos for hoursnevery day. One day he told his father he wanted to grow up to become a greatnexplorer and build the biggest building in the whole world. Markus loved hisnsono s enthusiasm to build and he promised him that one day if he got around tonit he would make a video game all about building and exploration. That DecembernMarkus met Elin, they soon fell in love. She joined him in his programmingncompany and became like a mother to Steven. In 2006 on cold October night Markus went withnSteven to the train station to meet up with Elin after returning from her parents.nIn a story there is always a twist and as much as I love them this one is quitendark but ito s been coming since I wrote the first sentence and it has to happen.nAs the train approached the station Steven slipped on a patch of ice and fellnonto the tracks. Markus turned around to see that Steven was gone and as henheard his sono s last heart-wrenching scream the train came screeching in.nMarkus fell to his knees as the train came to a stop. People gathered on thenplatform rushed to Markus as he wept on the cold metal floor. The train doorsnopened and Elin saw Markus crying on his knees and rushed over immediately. Henjust sat there at shook his head crying. Steven was gone. He had the remains ofnhis son cremated and in his backyard where the tree with the notch stood henburied the ashes beneath it and he muttered as once said by his infant son, o Evennthough a large portion is gone, the tree continues to grow.o
