So hello my darlings ;-;. I have decided to remake my old and crusty How to tell a REAL Hacker from a FAKE Hacker blog.
Types of Hackers
Since I posted my last blog, hackers have changed a lot. It went from one-mod fly hacks (I should probably call these cheats, as they are not actually hacking.) to Wolfram and Wurst, the deadly hacked clients. Different kinds of hacks can range from simply flying to controlling the sun. Lets move on to talking about some different types and how to spot them.
Speed Hackers:
These are obviously super easy to spot because of their light-speed moving which they can turn on and off at any time. The disadvantage for speed hackers is that speed hacks are very hard to control. If you have ever turned on max speed on singleplayer you will know what it is like.
Flying/Air Walking
Most hackers use fly hacks to avoid falling and to have a big advantage in PVP fights. All of the fly hacks that I have seen look a lot more like walking on air as if it were a block rather than actually flying. Just take a look at the video up there for example. I am almost certain they use a different technique because big servers like Hypixel and Mineplex have hack detectors.
Blink
Now this is kind of hard to explain. Whenever you move in Minecraft, it sends a message to the server where you are going so it can show that to other players. Blink stops that for a short time and then starts it back up again after. It makes the hacking player look like they lagged REALLY bad and then they teleport. It's pretty easy to combat a blink player because they stay in one place for a while sometimes.
Kill Aura
Whenever you go into the attacking range (five blocks unless they have reach also) of a kill aura hacker, their client will immediately attack you and others as fast as possible. They do none of the work except turning the hack on. Kill Aura is also known as forcefield or aimbot. Ways to spot it is if you see a player moving super fast to all targets in the area including team members.
Critical Hits
This one basically makes it so every time you hit someone, it's a Critical hit. You can spot this one if you are constantly seeing four pointed brown stars in your face and the player is jumping really fast.
Invincibility
This hack can range from giving player an infinite Regeneration V effect to Resistance X to No Fall Damage. To spot, if you hit a player who has about the same gear as you more than ten times, I'll bet you a million dollars they have this hack.
Anti-Knockback
If you have ever played Hypixel Sky Wars, you should know about the Knockback X slimeball. It's a slimeball that knocks you more than ten blocks away and that usually leads to death. This hack can prevent even the greatest types of Knockback. Not much to it.
Xray
This hack is EXTREMELY hard to detect unless they are using a client or you go down into their mines. People can easily install a texture pack which makes them see nothing but diamonds or gold. If someone has a mine that isn't a normal branch mine or pit mine or anything normal, but rather, a weird zig-zag tunnel, it's Xray.
In the following hacks, there is debate if the following hacks even exist.
Reach
This hack supposedly increases your reach. The normal Minecraft player has a five block reach. This mod supposedly gives you longer.
ForceOp
This definitely couldn't work with the Bukkit permissions because those are in the config. But, it may work with plain Vanilla Minecraft because /op is a command in game. I am not sure though, it's just a guess.
Definitely NOT a hack.
Someone Two-Hit Kills you with WAY better gear.
Someone jumps across a four-block jump
Someone has a lot of diamonds.
STOP THE HACK ACCUSING.
