Hey Guys . So i get some (Don't want to sound cocky) requests , asking me to come build on various server and some people asking how i build my builds etc etc. So i thought i'd write some mumble jumble about my building (lets call it technique for lack of a better word) and some tips to help the few of you who are new to building.

O and that pic is my 1st render for minecraft . YAY. ps dnt tune the mountains. I made them in like 10 min on world painter haha.

My general thoughts on builds:
  • If you aren't that creative , don't be afraid to go onto google images and find some inspiration .
  • Think of what you actually want to achieve instead of just on the spot building rubbish and trying to link it together (eg don't build a house and then decide to make a village , rather start by saying "lets build a village".
  • Spend as much time as you can on each part of your build.
  • If something looks "wrong" or out of place , change it , rather then just leaving it to always be wrong. (Don't be lazy)

  • Always try stick to a theme when building things like villages. (My fav is medieval)
  • Don't try and copy other peoples builds , but do look around on pmc for lots of idea's or small details you like.
  • Try build something original . Because its just RAD.

  • If you run out of inspiration to build , rather take a break (even if its a month ), then rush the build to quickly get it done. Jump onto another part and come back to finish what needs to be done at the end.
  • What makes a great build great is details. Every little block you place make a difference.

  • Try to vary you blocks and colors.
  • Always post what you have done on pmc, imgur , youtube and reddit to keep you motivated. ( I find other people saying awesome stuff helps me so much to keep on building)
  • If you are playing on your own server, get yourself a bukkit server with world edit and multiverse plugin so you can build things quickly and not waste your time building up walls for instance. But do not use World Edit to the extent that anyone can instantly tell you used it.

How i build my "bigger" buildings (Thalendor Castle for example):

  • When building something big the most important thing is to plan it. This doesn't mean you have to sit down with a pen a paper and draw it all out. But at least have an idea of the size and dimensions of your build.
  • My large build can take up to 1 month to complete and around 150 hours of work. (Just for interest sake)

  1. Start my build by laying out a 1 block high outline of the entire build (Or the detailed parts) , and use signs to label each section of the place .
  2. Then I build the outer area (being a wall of a castle)
  3. Build the entire exterior to the 1st floor and work my way up , laying out a plan for each layer.
  4. Finally i finish off the basic exterior or shell.
  5. Then touch up and exterior detains that need to be done .
  6. Start on the inside again laying out each room .
  7. Build the interior and change any exteriors (such as windows to the correct places or if something doesn't fit add extra doors etc etc etc.
  8. I then like to work room by room and fully completing each room at a time. With detail and all (Otherwise im let with endless detail to do and it drives me mad XD )
  9. I then go around each aspect and finish off anything that i left out. If something looks wrong i change it. Even if that means having to spend many more hours.

Now my mumble jumble :

So iv been working on my Thalendor Castle (Click here if you have no idea what i'm talking about ) . The inside is taking shape nicely but is taking for EVER.......... i spend so much time making sure shiz is perfect i forget what the time is :D . I will definitely make a sick cinematic vid of it once its done and give it to everyone to download.

O another note iv notice quite a few random projects on the reel that are in my opinion utterly crap and some really awesome builds not taking a spot. I'm guessing this is due to vast advertising on the chat and people simply clicking diamond without thinking about it. But o wells good on them i guess :/

Just want to say thanks to everyone for the support i get from you all. My you tube is growing slowly but did reach 100 subs , so was pretty physicked about that ( Winning XD )

Hope all that rubbish i wrote about building helped. If you have any questions just ask .

Love you all , (except the people continually posting crap they build and Steve skins with red eyes. :D
But other then that <3 to u all , in the least homosexual way possible.

PEACE OUT

I seem to be doing random shizzle and can't put the time into things. I always try to rush it and just can't get out of this habit. But anyways, nice blog. :)
