[RANT] Blogs without effort...what...the.....heck...

How it all began...

Okay, so today I was bored on PMC. I usually spend time in the forums, but my forum friends weren't there at the time. So what did I do? I did what I usually do when I'm bored--go to the blog section and look for an interesting story, art/drawing, or a comic even. So today I was thinking a story. So I looked at the recently posted stories that are shown before you click the title or the "Browse stories" and I saw one of the chapters of my own story that I've been recently working on. (I am referring to Microfantasia. For those who have been waiting for the 4th chapter, it's out. Just thought to mention while I'm at it.) So I thought, "Hmh, that's the chapter I posted awhile ago. I guess stories haven't been coming a lot lately," and all of that. Then I thought, "Well, I guess I'll still check it out. I haven't been to the story section in about a week anyways so .... it's certainly got more interesting ones than last time," and I clicked to browse through more stories. And to my horror, I thought I was about to puke.

I saw many stories that made me wanna just die in my chair. Some were only about 1 paragraph long. They didn't have very good spelling or grammar, either. (I looked at a few of them.) And worst thing of all.....a LOT of them were things like, "Steve and the endermen" and "the creeper" and things like that!!! And OMGOSH I CANNOT tell you how unoriginal that is!!! I have seen SO many "Steve and the endermen" and "the creeper" and ALL of those things WAAAAY too often! And it ticks me off all the way to .... and I'm SURE you get it!

What happened to me? Well, I'll tell you this much--I didn't even make it to page 5. For a person who likes to write stories like me, it annoyed me a ton JUST to see the titles that read, "the adventures of steve," and "the story of a creeper," etc, etc, ETC!!!

"Is it just with stories?"

No, it is not! It happens with articles, reviews, interviews, etc. Pretty much saying, it happens with EVERYTHING! Some people just make a short little article, SOME even just make a blog saying something like this:

"hey gais i havent ben geteen manee daimnds latly so plz go and daimnd my stuf and ill daimnd urs bak. :) thank u. BGDFGJFDGSLKFGJSLGLJFGGFDGDGJDFLGKJDLSGJFKLGJSLRJGLKDFJGLDJFGLFKJG"

I'm sure it's not just me that's seen something like this! The main text (other than the random gibberish in all caps,) is only around 110 characters long. And when things are that short, they spam random characters on the keyboard so they can make it long enough to allow it to be posted. And DON'T forget that they get some exp from this stupid post, which is a large group of the people's objective. OH! And you CAN'T forget the awful spelling! Barely anything is spelled correctly, and I'm positive that it doesn't take a "Grammar Nazi" to be annoyed by such awful spelling! To be honest, (in my opinion,) I think that always carelessly making SO many spelling mistakes makes people look uneducated and immature. It's understandable if you're in a BIG rush or something like that and you make a few, but a WHOLE sentence and you're NOT in an important rush? Seriously? I don't got ANY sympathy for that! Trust me, I don't!

"Well, how do we stop this?"

A way we could stop this, you ask? There are many different ways to stop such madness! And if you're one of these people who want diamonds and want exp so much....think about this:

How much is one click worth to you?

Just think about that! How much is one, digital, non-life changing, less than 3 second-long click to you? Is it REALLY worth that much? Is it REALLY worth stealing, and worthlessly writing a small maybe 1 sentence long blog? Is it really worth it? Is exp really worth it? Is it going to help you get a job someday? Is it going to improve your math skills? Science? Health? History? English? Civics? Is it going to help you with penmanship? Is it going to get you a wife/husband? Is it going to give you the answer to what G-d's plan for your life is? Is it going to solve anything in real life? The answer is no. It won't benefit you for the future. It won't do ANYTHING for you at all that involves real life.

Anyways, as I was saying, there are many ways to help stop this madness! One way is to help people with inspiration and such so they don't write a story that already exists. Maybe give them an idea or something. And talk to them about things that would inspire them. I think that one problem that exist for even just a few is that some people want to write a story badly but they don't know what to write about, so they write something unoriginal. Don't go around saying that it's not possible. It's very possible in fact. It's a big world out there and you can never know what others think, after all. Another way is to help people with their spelling and grammar in such so they will be able to write correctly in the future. Maybe you have friends that are on PMC and they do those kinds of things. It's good to help friends with things if possible, like learning correct grammar and spelling and such! So if possible, help your friends out! Even your siblings maybe! Don't forget--Effort is the key word!

Conclusion

People go around making blogs whether it's a story or article without any effort at all. One of the big problems that are there is the whole, "I want daimnds! I want exp!" crap. But that doesn't make it the only problem. Some people don't care for grammar and spelling, others just don't know how to use grammar and spell. When I make my stories, articles, etc. I put a lot of effort into my work! So I hope very much that people will put effort into their work as well! With correct grammar, spelling, and effort into things, people will be able to enjoy the stories, they will want to see more, and they'll become interested. And remember--the red, squiggly underlines are your FRIENDS!!!
