“Excuse me?” Katsu replied.

“What’d you expect?! Some lovey-dovey ghost magic? Nah! I ain’t a wish-granting ghost! I’m a scary possessive ghost!”

“The ghost downstairs seems scarier than you, even with that mask on!”

“HOW DARE-”

“You called?” the small voice from earlier said right in between them.

“Great! Now you got the pitchy one in our faces!”

“I AM NOT PITCHY!”

“Weeeeelllllll-”

Then the girls came in.

“Shut up, will you!? You guys are so loud we can’t hear ourselves!” said Ayiko.

“We could still hear you perfectly fine when you were in your room!” replied Masky.

The room was chaotic. Even Tomoko started yelling to defend her friend. All Katsu could do was quiver under his crimson comforter. Eventually Tomoko noticed and wandered over to his bed and patted him on the back. She has terrible social skills.

“Ayiko, let’s just go to bed”, Tomoko said. “It’s getting late anyways.”

“But-”

“No ‘buts’.” and with that Ayiko was literally dragged away, still making the mug face at Masky.

“Hey kid, so what about my offer?” he said. “Kid? You good?”

Masky floated over to his bed, where the intense quivering had ceased.

Perfect timing, he thought.

A red light shone through the creaked open door of the boys’ room.

The next morning, Katsu never came down for breakfast and grandma teen ghost lady said she didn’t see him earlier either, so after a hearty breakfast of PB&J sandwiches, they went outside to look for him in the dense forest surrounding the house. When they didn’t find him Ayiko proposed they just head back, with the reasoning of “He’s a wimp, so he’ll come back before dark.”

Before she could say anything, they heard rustling in the trees and looked around to see an incredibly fast shadow Naruto-jumping through the branches. It was so fast they couldn’t even see its face when it chloroformed them. Tomoko, however, managed to catch a glimpse of it, and what she saw was disturbing.

Katsu’s orange-tannish eyes were glowing.

Not just glowing. They were more independent, stronger, less like a “wimp”.

And she did not like what she saw.

I can’t believe that’s gonna be the last thing I see before I die, she thought. She’d never been chloroformed before, so she’s never experienced this. It was about that time she passed out.

When she returned conscious, she looked around and found herself in the corner of a half-lighted room with no sign of Ayiko. She could still hardly move, besides sitting up, and there was a locked door. How did she know it was locked, you ask? Why, the giant lock on it, of course.

A couple minutes passed by and she just sat there helpless. Eventually, the lock clicked open and a pitch-black spirit looking thing floated in through the door. It looked ever so slightly alarmed, went back outside, and in a shrill pitchy voice said something she couldn’t understand.

After, a figure in a pitch-black cape came in and locked the door, most likely in case she tried to escape; or, worst-case scenario, for something else.

Is he gonna try to kill me?? She thought. No, if he was gonna kill me, he probably would have done so when I was asleep. Unless he’s a psycho and wants to torture me first.. That would explain Katsu..

As the figure turned around, his fluffy black hair moved ever so slightly. He was wearing a long black sweatshirt and black-blue jeans with a cape and fur on the shoulders. As he moved closer, she saw black indistinguishable boots and a black-white mask covering the upper part of his face. (good picture but with no ears and black and white) She could see the very faint glow of his red-tan eyes.

As she stepped closer Tomoko tried to scooch farther back but she only ended up pushing herself up further against the wall. When he was in front of her she squatted down and stared at her for a quick five seconds before she demanded,

“W-what did you do with Ayiko?!” She couldn’t lie, she was terrified, but when a friend was in trouble, they always came first.

“She’s fine. In a room just like this”, the masked man replied. His voice was sweet, yet demanding and independent. He sounded like Katsu… but slightly deeper, like he had a hint of that ghost from the fight last night-

“A-are you the ghost f-from last night?”

“A clever one.”

“Wh-what did you do with Katsu?”

He was silent for a count of 9 after that, and broke into a heavy laughter in the tenth second. “Can’t you see?” he lifted up her chin with his finger, and with his other lifted up his mask.
“He’s right here, silly.”
