hey everyone I am going to start a weekly modding tutorial. In this one I will be teaching you how to get set up. This week since i wont be actually teaching you how to code, I will have 2 tutorials. Lets get started.
here is #2 http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/weekly-modding-tutorials-2-recipes/
What you will need:
you will need to download the latest version of mcp, modloader, and any version of eclipse
eclipse:
http://www.eclipse.org/
mcp:
http://mcp.ocean-labs.de/index.php/MCP_Releases
modloader:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/75440-v125-risugamis-mods-everything-updated/
winrar,7zip,winzip,betterzip or any other archiving program
getting your minecraft.jar ready:
once you get those downloaded open up the minecraft launcher. after you have that opened up click on options and force update and run minecraft(this will give you a fresh .minecraft so backup your .minecraft if you have mods that you want to keep)
next click the start button.
then type run into the search bar and hit enter.
this should give you a program with just a search bar
type appdata into the search bar and hit enter
after it opens up a new window click on roaming then .minecraft then bin
after you are in your bin right click on minecraft.jar and open with your preferred archiving program
after it is open make sure minecraft is closed and delete the folder meta-inf
then drag the files from modloader into your minecraft.jar
after this you can close modloader and minecraft.jar
setting up mcp and eclipse:
next you will want to make a new folder named modding or whatever but it will work fine if you decide you want it to have a different name but in these tutorials i will be referring to it as your modding folder
create 2 folders inside of this naming one mcp and one eclipse (again you can put them as whatever you want but i will refer to them as your mcp folder and your eclipse folder)
then drag the contents of mcp into your mcp folder and the contents of eclipse into your eclipse folder
after this is completed your eclipse is done but your mcp isn't.
open up mcp, then jars
delete everything in that folder (you only need those if you are making a plugin for bukkit)
then go back to your .minecraft folder
copy bin and resources from .minecraft into the jars folder.
then you are done with your .minecraft folder.
go back into your mcp folder and run decompile.bat
BEFORE YOU DO THAT THOUGH READ THIS
there is 1 error that you SHOULD get.
1 out of 1 hunk falied
if you get that then you know that you probably did it right.
after you run decompile.bat you are ready to start coding!!!
please leave any suggestions for future tutorials in the comments
also if you have any errors post the error message in the comments and i will tell you what you did wrong.
And as always please diamond and subscribe! :D
