Hi everyone, so as we approach finals season, I would like to explain to you all what moderation is and the benefits it can have on you.
What is Moderation?
The dictionary states moderation as “the quality of being moderate; restraint; avoidance of extremes or excesses; temperance”. What this means is that sometimes too much of one thing is a bad thing.
I would like to use my own life as an example. The first three weeks of school I was on PMC about 3-4 hours a day, I wasn't paying attention to my friends, I was ignoring my family, and I wasn't asking for help from my teachers. I was just going through the motions, and I felt gross pretty much everyday.
Luckily, I had a really good friend who tapped me on the shoulder one day and told me to look at her. When I did, she told me about moderation. She told me to explore the world, to put down the phone for at least an hour and to essentially “smell the roses”.
I thought about this for a day, and came to this conclusion. No matter what I tell myself, I have a problem and the only way I can solve it is with moderation.
Why am I telling you this?
I think some of you on the Internet, use it WAY too much. While it is a great thing to have and a great tool, sometimes it can negatively affect you. I have seen some threads on the forums about self-harm, depression, and suicide. I believe the cause of this is the Internet, and as much as you can deny it, it at least plays a small part in the problem.
I want to see all of you grow up into amazing individuals, who live wonderful, happy lifestyles, but one of the ways to do this is to stop what you are flaming, liking, or browsing on and look up. The world is a wonderful place, and I want all of you to enjoy it!
Please listen to my advice ^_^, I guarantee it will help you.

For some; the internet is a way to escape. It's much like this for me, well, used to be.
For some people, we come here to escape our daily lives. To stop thinking about what happened at school today, to stop stressing over things, and to just simply relax. It's where you go to well, I'll say it again, escape.
Also, I agree with you too. The internet is a wonderful thing, but it should be used only in moderation.
Here on the internet you can express yourself without being judged, well, usually. You can just be yourself, and be how you want to be. Without the fears of not "fitting in" or "looking right". It's a very good place for very many people.
Anyways, I liked your post. :)
Some people who gets bullied or just don't feel comfortable with socializing in the real world/doesn't have many to socialize with comes to the Internet where they have their Internet-Friends, I've often found the internet to be way nicer to me than the real world, and that whenever I "smell the roses", I get hurt or sad.
I'm kind of a lone wolf in real life, so Internet is a good way to express yourself :)
Not critisizing your post though, these were wise words for those who over uses the internet!
